Hi, but since I have solar panels, it's convenient for me to activate both the start and end times and set, for example, start at 12 p.m. and end at 3 p.m. That way, it only charges during that time period when the solar panels produce the most energy, right?

I did the whole schedule thing. Plugged it in 4 hours before scheduled. It charged the car before the schedule.

Chris, great video content. Have you noticed with the new updates, the preconditioning is not heat up the battery like the older software. I see more of the temperature changes but not the heating the battery. This is important as most live up north with 30/40 degree mornings. I noticed this when I got in the car and it was 1k kWh for the first to 500 kWh for my 2023 model y. I’ve set up an appointment at the service center. Is this something you or many of your followers have noticed yet?

If I set my charge time from 7pm to 7am, will the charger use the whole 12 hrs to charge or will it charge at its normal rate (32A) and get to 80% in 7hrs vs getting to 80% in the 11/12th hour. Thxs.

My car refuses to charge at night and will charge on its own after 8am. Nothing scheduled! Brought into service and they don’t know what’s going on.

Thank you, I have always struggled trying to use scheduled departure. My understanding was it would finish charging just before departure set time, but mine always started charging immediately and finished hours before my departure time. Hopefully new interface will help me. Btw, it noticed your TOU screenshot isn’t 4-9 PRIME which is typically for homes with 1-2 EVs, is that correct? Do you also have solar? I ask because I have solar and 2 EVs and the SCE rate review said I would save by moving from TOU 4-9 off to the regular TOU 4-9. Is that what you did? Thanks, again.

Hi Chris, thanks for the content! Any idea if Tesla will update the wall charger app to allow you to choose the days of the week as well as the time of day to allow use. Our city’s time of use is only weekdays. Easier for scheduling multiple cars at home

I really like your show here on KZbin. You should consider getting tesla solar with power bank. . They really help with all my Testla X, S, and Cyberturck. After charging 2 of my EV in one day, I still have enough to power my house.

Just got my “rear motor disabled” messages OUT OF NO WHERE.. followed by the turtle symbol every time I try to drive.. luckily my MY can still charge even though I also got an error showing that “unable to charge”

Great video. I live in SoCal and charge my Model Y 98% at home. Off-Off Peak is midnight to 0600 so that's when we charge. There was one time that I had to take off to AZ with a less than 90% charge (which I like when traveling) so I just hit the nearest Supercharger to top off.

@@JPest91 Yep, we have the start time at 0000 and the end time at 06:00. We get a notification around 06:30 that the car is ready for use. Of course, we don't have to wait till 06. We can hop in at any time and stop the charge if we need to use it.

I set a schedule on the car but it doesn’t show up in the app. Do I need to add that same schedule manually on the app? Also I set it up end at 5am but it’s 11pm and looks like it’s already charged up to my limit

so you set ONLY the end time correct? Make sure it's on the screen in the tesla first and it should carry over to the app. If not it may not have completed

Is there a way to change the rate on certain time for charge stats on the mobile app. for example if I charge before 12am I get charged for 17 cent per kwh. after I charge at 12m it is free. I didn't find a solution on the mobile app, but wonder if there is one on tesla car or even on this new software changes

Yeah it’s a bit confusing but I guess I will play around with it just not on my work day, and yes I was completely upset because after it updated it did not charge at all luckly I had enough charge to go to work and back still. And then when I came home I plugged it in and it started charging right away and I was like what the heck. I don’t want it to charge now.

Mine hits the limit ie 60% then immediately drops to 57% and loses like 2khw. Is this similar to your issue?

2024 M3RWD, just got 2024.26.7 update and put in a charge schedule to start at 6 pm and stop at 6 am to avoid peak rates. Didn't work...started charging as soon as I plugged it in when I came home at noon. Reddit said to delete any schedules I made and then power cycle twice in a row using the wheel buttons to get the update to take properly. I did that and the schedule did look a little different, like the update was finally actually in. Sadly, still didn't work, on the next trip, it again started charging immediately when I plugged it in. 😞 I'm only charging like 3 or 4% for around town driving so it's not like it needed a huge amount of time and I'm not using the preconditioning at all, so not sure if it's just buggy or what. Next test will be to not put in any end time, in case it's the going overnight confusing it.

Your charging rates are insane. My KW rate is .12 and I only have a surcharge of. .2 on all kw usage after 600 regardless of time of use. I assume you’re in the PAC NW or California. I guess it’s still cheaper than gas, but it seems like a lot of downside for minimal upside at those prices.

We pay just under $0.11 a KW. Y’all are getting ripped off. I charge both my Teslas 24/7 and leave them plugged in. My standard range 2022 I charge to 100% as it’s the LFP and my 2023 Performance I keep at 85%.
