Tesla Screen For Land Cruiser 200 16-inch Android Screen Unboxing & Demo

I installed a massive 16-inch Tesla style touch screen infotainment system on my 2014 Land Cruiser V8 VXR. It is an Android based system installed in Dubai.
Overall it feels good, there are some refinements that could make the experience even better but overall this is a great setup and a very affordable price compared to other big brand aftermarket audio systems available for the Land Cruiser.

Overall, it looked fancy but the operation was lagging a lot. I hope the newer ones have more RAM and processing power. Still, it looked so funky in the car. Eventually it stopped playing music and I had to go back to the OEM head unit.

What is your updated opinion on this telsa unit after 1 yr? Overall are you happy with upgrade or you would have kept factory? Abd after a year use is the tablet still responsive or lagging after a yr? That is 1 of my cocerns of longevity of performance on this device

It's glitchy and not the perfect solution. Looks great though.

Mike R, that’s a good question, the quality of the product, the longevity, as it is not a system that is easy to install and it is neither inexpensive. It is advisable to keep the original system as a back up just in case.

hey buddy , look at my photo , my landcruiser is low version without screen original , it just have an poor radio system , finnaly i change the 10.2 inch android system . it with DVD system DSP and car play, looks like an original car style . but my screen is ANDROID SYSTEM ! it is multifunctional -- really nice ! i shared the installation video at my space .

Hello Martin, I have the same system in my LC, however many of the features are not functioning properly. I did a factory reset and it even more worse, even the bluetooth still shows initializing. Can you help me on how to upgrade the system to make it work properly.

Hello, I installed the same Tesla screen for my LC 200 and the Air bag light indicator on the dash is permanently on. Is there anything I can do to rectify it. There is an air bag transfer cable, but this does not fit into any of the connection ports. My sound system that came with the car originally is the JBL synthesis 6-CD loader. With Factory Navigation

Did the external switch on the dash for the cameras, came with them or did you buy it separately? I installed a similar system on my 2011 Lexus GX 460, but I don’t have an external switch and things are not working too well. If you have a part number for that switch, I would appreciate it. Thanks

It looks nice, I hope to upgrade my 2011 Lexus GX 460 with a similar system. It appears that there are some similarities between your LandCruiser and the Lexus GX 460. Re the cameras installed, was it necessary to install all the wirings for them, the vehicle didn’t come pre wired for them? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Why would you have AC controls on a touchscreen tho. It’s a lot easier to use physical dials.

You may have already sorted this out..... you have to remove the old unit and make use of the connectors that went into the back of the original unit.You also have to remove the aircon control unit below iot as well.

It will for sure. Needs to have the same specs as a modern android phone to enjoy the UX.

Depends on the trim. If it's a VXR then not all speakers will work. This doesn't work with the 5.1 JBL amplifier that comes in the top versions of the LC200.

I have a 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser, 60th anniversary model 4.0 Litres, 5AT, which i exported to Spain and I am now looking to purchase and install the Andriod based Telsa type screen and a Fly Audio 360 camera similar to yours. Sorry for the late response. I don't think a DVD/CD player can be added to this. Aren't the headrests separate units anyway?

Yes? you have lost 7.1 sound quality. Those chinese units does not have propper crossover to JBL Synthesis amplifier, there for you have to keep original receiver module and connect through stereo AUX sound input? which is NOT GOOD! In addition they do not have also AVC-LAN, so you will not have nice multiterrain monitor with wheel projection, also they do not have communication to multiterrain ECU, so you will not have auto-switching of the cameras in the event of obstraction - no parktronic assistant response. So I would say THIS UNITS ARE UNFINISHED!

It's got good usability overall but I'm not that happy with the audio to be honest. The original Toyota system worked with the JBL amplifier and all the speakers. I have a VXR model with all the top end features bit now just two front speakers work. That is putting me off a bit.

Yes. I have the VX-R with the JBL amp. This thing doesn't completely work with it so you will loose some audio quality.

nice video Martin and indeed this is a smarter option than getting a new car. The boot time of 10secs on the high side especially if you want you reverse camera to work instantly as you get into the car. Can you please post the name of the place that installed it for you. Thanks

Hey Abumalik the reverse camera system comes on instantly. It bypasses the android system. Alamani Audio in Ras Al Khor installed it.
