This is the best video I've seen yet. I just got my cyber truck and I've been trying to learn about all this wrap stuff. I live in Minnesota, so our weather destroys everything. I don't care what anyone thinks, eventually the salt and sand we use on the roads is going to trash these trucks. I just want to slow it down. Thank you for making this video, it was extremely helpful for me and my decision.

It's polyurethane so by chemistry, it self heals from minor scratches. The key term there is minor scratches. However because of it's properties, it def helps protect much more due to its thickness than vinyl.

Please sell swatches of the stock look PPF so parts of the touch points can be covered and cut to size by owner. Also some mat PPF cut to wrap the truck from the belt line up, leaving the bottom natural.

Best is to demo it at outdoor where you can see the difference between the sun shines directly to it vs in the shade vs during cloudy day.

How does the PPF hold up when it goes through a car wash?

We don't recommend using auto car washes due to the harsh bristles and/or harsh chemicals they use. Hand washing is the best way to go to make sure you get the most life out of your wrap. If you go through auto car washes often, it'll most likely make the lifespan of your PPF a bit shorter. The harsh bristles may try to lift the edges of the PPF as well.

I have just got a clear PPF for the doors. Also a clear PPF for the front as a bra to take the impact of bugs. CT is a bug demond. I love the steel look so no need for colored wrap. Each to his own though.

I wanna do gloss black on my Cybertruck. I probably won’t keep it much more than a year. What do you recommend? Also what’s your opinion of inozotek?

If you’re only keeping it for a year, i would save some money and go with obsidian or a deep gloss black vinyl. Inozotek is a good brand too!

I wouldn't recommend automatic car washes for wraps. The harsh chemicals and/or rough brushes will shorten the life of it. Like it will discolor over time, might peel up the edges, scratch the film, etc.

@@tesbros Do you know when the DIY black PPF will be available, and are they close to the cost of Vinyl? I just want a worry free wrap that last awhile. I assume ppf seems harder to DIY around the edges due to thickness so worried about messing up.

We're working on it now, so hopefully within the next month or so. And yes, you're right about the edges. We're working on the best way for DIYers to install since it is a little more difficult in those areas. We wanna be able to guarantee that anyone can do it before launching. As far as cost, It will probably be roughly double the cost of vinyl. Another option to save some money is you could wrap your trunk in vinyl and then lay ppf over the highest impact places like the frunk bumper and hood. PPF will go over vinyl just fine and help protect it. Just something to think about!
