Teso South MP, Mary Emasse, has denied allegations that she evaded arrest in Uganda on Sunday. She says the allegations are baseless attempts by her opponents to tarnish her name, in the run up to the polls in August. Meanwhile, Ugandan top security chiefs are giving contradicting stories concerning the Sunday incident.
The Bukedi Regional Police spokesperson confirmed the incident saying the Kenyan MP was found campaigning in Amagoro village, Buteba Sub County in Busia district. The Busia Uganda Resident District Commissioner, gave a different account saying Mary's BODYGUARD was arrested at Amagoro village in Uganda where he had accompanied the MP who had gone to visit her relatives. The MP says she wasn't even in Uganda on that day.
