I just have to laugh at Twinkles' "Gasp!" As for the arc, it is what it is until it isn't. Tests could have been tampered with or they could be legitimate. It is just a matter of how Rae, the streamer, and everyone else RPs with this new info. It does give a lot of RP directions for many RPers to play with.
