I have seen 10 to 15 skate Olympic and national games of these week. Today at the end I have seen they come to the end before 4 months. You both are so beautiful and you stay I think 75% of your age together so I need to see you together for the next years in same home within the same. family.

I get that I’m not too in the loop about them but I’m tired of seeing these comments about how it’s Tessa’s fault and they thought it was Scott’s fault and that they should be together and that Scott’s engagement won’t last. I’m also annoyed about how people are calling Tessa cold when really you don’t know the whole story. I just want to wish them well and I hope the rest of their lives go well for them!

You are right. The speculations about Tessa and Scott's private life never interested me. In my eyes they are geniuses of ice dancing, legends never equaled. that's why we're all here no? When I discovered them ten years ago, I was definitely rooting for them to end up together. But in between the years that I have supported them, I have realized that they don't need to be a couple at all because what they have is something much more profound and deeper than any relationship that any body could have. The roots of their friendship is something many people would only dream about. They have dreamed together and they have lived that dream together multiple times in the world of ice. I see their retirement not as the end of a career but as a transition towards a new chapter. It is beginning of a new era. They have achieved success in the face of many obstacles to which they triumphed and made a legacy no other can duplicate. It is time to hand over their mantle to give opportunity for many aspiring ice dancers in the new generation to rise and shine and achieve the same dream that they had reached. The chemistry between them, the fluidity of their transitions, how they're able to bring a story to life and pull you in, the precision of the their footwork, side by side, lifts and twizzlers, they're simply mesmerizing! An excellent decision. Comes a time-and they're going out on just about the biggest high ever. They deserve to move on into the next phase of their lives, and stop having to train so hard. Thankfully we've got ALL those fantastic performances to watch on videos forever. It will be a long long time, I reckon, before anybody else even comes close to what they've accomplished. And they've done it with such panache. As people often say, they make it look easy. I guess there is no greater compliment they could receive.

I really like these two, and I can watch their skating forever. However, I´m not sad because of this retirement announcement, and that´s because a) I think they cannot top what they´ve already achieved, so it is definitely right to stop now. When you stop at your peak you will remain a legend. b) They have known for a while that they would go seperate ways, so making it official now only seems legit. You cannot tell the public forever that you´re reassessing you post-olympic life to find out what you want. c) I realize that this is not only a retirement announcement, it is also promoting their tour. It´s cleverly done, but it is a PR-trick. People will go and see their tour, because it´s likely their last chance. d) I don´t think Tessa and Scott will go back to competative skating or do another tour, but I´m dead certain they will skate together again even after the tour. It´s their skating that makes them relevant. If they want to pursue a career that builds on the reputation they´ve got, they have to keep it alive. e) Part of me hopes that they will eventually end up together anyway. I cannot see Scott´s engagement lead to a happy lasting marriage, and Tessa will eventually be done with her studies, and then maybe they will realize what they´ve had together.

I agree with everything except your last point. I really don't see them together. I want them to remain friends forever. Friendship lasts, love.. well, it's often doomed. We just see them on the ice, but we forget that they have known each other for their whole lives. Personally, I can't imagine having romantic feelings with boys from my past. Like the crew of Harry Potter, people wanted them to be romantically involved in real life, it doesn't work like that :) I love T and S as friends. I love that a man and a woman can be friends

I agree with all your points you are spot on. I do have a question when you said in point c) it is a PR trick promoting their tour are you also saying that even his engagement is a PR trick to promote the tour? I feel sometimes that the whole ordeal is a promotion for the RTR to get fans out then again the engagement threw a curveball. It was reported that the engagement was suppose to be kept a secret but somehow got out at the WOF. Please clarify for me. I agree I also cannot see Scott's engagement leading to a happy lasting marriage. And hopefully, when T is done with studies they can realize what they have and have had in each other. I know your intentions are good but we don't actually know what they are like off camera, and I think it's (VERY) disrespectful to Scott and his fiance to make such a point. Of course, at the end of the day if Tessa and Scott do end up together then cool, feel free to say "I told you so". But as of right now, who are you to make such a judgement? Saying that you think Scott and Tessa are a match just because they have chemistry when they perform is like saying two actors playing lovers in a movie should marry one another because they played their parts well.
