Now they're just showing off! But seriously this was incredible and they are incredible! Love them!

FANTASTIC... in August to be this polished... their sense of each other, timing, dance hold, artistry, and the way every move matters, it is packed with content, such difficulty and always in character. After Torvill and Dean, my favourite dance team of all time.

thanks for uploading!!! beautiful v/m! this is how true champ starts the season.

Can't believe they skated this complex program so brilliantly on their first showing. The swinging of their bodies during the step sequence is just exquisite.

Love this! This SD is full of character. Funny how in the end, you'd think they'd do a dip for their final pose but Tessa goes behind Scott and then they actually do their final pose.

Completely agree with you.What the hell is this speed in itself and for itself? We're not watching Bolt in the 100 meter sprint.Apart from the fact that they seem to me fast what you need, you can not dance every dance with the same style, the same swing, the same pace as if there were no difference. I saw today for the first time this SD and I was immediately involved: and it is just the beginning. They are simply wonderful, as always.Really unmatched.
@darla04211 жыл бұрын
beside mid-step & twizzles, v/m keep holding super close each other. it's so genius they could generate most speed in "dance hold" almost hugging each other :). beautiful line and posture ,never lose their rhythm, v/m dance. After all, this is ice-'dance', not ice-'speedy moving around'.

I can see the Jean Marc influence in this routine :D Thanks for uploading! I think this SD is perfect for the Olympic season.

There is so much pissing and moaning about not being able to be creative in ice dance and teams just amassing elements for the sake of it out there. Then, you log into KZbin in August and you see this!. This is a real DANCE... At the end of the day, the teams that complain just dont have the depth that Tessa and Scott have to draw on. Fabulous of them to be this perfect

Looks nice. Enjoyed the first half more than the second one.

Exquisite. Why are people fixated on speed? What some call "speed" with D/W, to me often appears rushed, frantic, not holding any position for more than a nano second. V/M's edges are so deep & smooth, the level of difficulty incredible.

Their ability to skate so well enables them to ice dance; and they get better with age. Finally, no more questions... this feud is over I'm not discussing it anymore. Say what you want

really love the beginning part of this SD, so much creative and exciting moves. The dance step part in the middle was a little bit boring and not as exciting as the beginning part imo. Hopefully they can polish this SD a bit more going in to the Grand Prix this year and for the Olympic next year!!! so exciting to see their new program.. Go Virtue Moir!!!

OMG. the only complaint that I have is that it does not last longer. I cant get over how nice it is.
@icedancefan-ci5ij11 жыл бұрын
Actually, if you pull up fancam versions of performances, due to the wider angle (i.e. not being zoomed in on the skaters), you can see that the opposite is true. V/M maintain speed while executing their elements. D/W lose speed. Also, those who have observed the teams live will tell you that V/M are just as fast, if not faster, than D/W.
@SuperShoelady11 жыл бұрын
So smooth and graceful like...........but just a little worried not fast enough next to M & C

That's very rude to say about the current World Champions, Lisa Marie. First off, everyone has their own opinions and favorites. I myself have mine, but I'm not going to mention it because you haters of D/W might say, "why aren't you defending V/M" or "why are you even commenting on a V/M video." Not every dance has to be quick and not every dance has to be extremely emotional or romantic. Every ice dance team is different. Second, of all this speed talk, doesn't the quickstep have to be quick?
@roycemints11 жыл бұрын
I apologize for thinking you were a journalist, Patrick Ryan. A suggestion would be to mute the video then. Some fans do that, makes them appreciate the skating more.
@loridonnison708711 жыл бұрын
Of course I didn't mention my opinion, can you read? I said on my first post that I'm not going to voice my opinion/favorite.

But no one's attacking Patrick Chan? We're talking about Patrick Ryan, the "journalist"

Once again, everyone has an opinion. You just voiced yours. I was simply stating that D/W are champions because they ARE at the level of, if not, higher than the level of V/M. Nevertheless, these two teams have greatly shaped the ice dance world.
@loridonnison708711 жыл бұрын
I never said that V/M are not quick. I was referring to D/W. And think about it. I'm not whining about the criticism of D/W, I'm just stating a fault in the criticism that they deserved the title this year. After all, aren't I returning to this page, which presents V/M skating?
@HelTra9111 жыл бұрын
It's not they aren't quick, but certain areas of their skating tend to slow down to compensate for difficulty (mostly spins the spins though). Davis and White have an abundance of speed and have managed to not loose it when packing in the difficulty. I love both teams and I really wish this whole comparison between the two teams would just stop already. If we're going to talk about speed let's mention the Shibutanis who seem to have some of the quickest twizzles out there.

Quickstep doesn't equal frantic movements though. You can be fast on ice while not looking like you're hurrying somewhere. D/W generate speed w/ hops and lots of running around while VM have great knee bend that contributes to their speed. And last year, yes D/W, according to judges ticked the boxes for the elements & Carmen wasn't embraced by the judges, but as individual ice dancers, imo, Tessa & Scott are still the best in the world. Both of them are the ideal female & male ice dancers. IMO.

Very mature going on a video that I never posted on and making personal attacks against my character. This is a free country and I am entitled to my opinion on skating, as are you. I never once commented regarding any of your views or insulting your love or passion for the sport. I can like or dislike whatever I want, whenever I want to. I have never in my life claimed to be a journalist. How dare you be so nasty toward me. If you want to do so in the future, at least get your facts right.

I know that it will get faster but spy's have told me that M & C come fast and keep getting fasting right now as the dance go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not only that, D/W also do a lot of pulling/dragging as well ;)

Why is someone attacking Patrick Chan...........are you Canadian cause I am and you attacking Patrick Chan whom is amazing. I was not attacking V and S just commenting on there speed compared to M and C. Yes I have seen both live.........Are you guys Canadian that are commenting goodness.............

My point is that I'm impartial! Is it that hard to notice? And I'm not going to explain anything, I'm tired of our little exchange, you must be too
@Themmaker11 жыл бұрын
VM are faster than DW. They cover more ice in less time. DW seem faster because they do quick movements, hops, piruettes, twizzling (always the same steps in every program) but they fail to cover more ice in less time than TS.

What has happened to their wonderful chemistry? The music is great and so is the choreography but the rest just falls flat. Hopefully they can find their spark again because they're going to need it for this season!!

Can everyone stop harping on D/W and just focus on praising V/M? Really, it's not that hard to do.
@FigureSkatingVideosAnalysis11 жыл бұрын
I don't HATE them. I hated this MUSIC. They performed fine. Maybe I was a little over the top, but man can people jump to some pretty crazy conclusions. And if you are going to post shit about me, I am going to hit back. Anyways, I have high hopes for their FD and look forward to seeing it. End of story.

if you don't want people being nasty towards you then you shouldn't have trivialized a serious issue such as suicide. next time think before you speak.
@loridonnison708711 жыл бұрын
Well people don't always get what they want, and I'm not going to spoon feed you what I think. Use your brain. Ask yourself why I think D/W are fast. It's not that hard!!! And all the "hops" and "running" is what both D/W and V/M use. Watch carefully and you'll notice it in V/M dancing. They're coached by the same person, remember?
@FigureSkatingVideosAnalysis11 жыл бұрын
Like you've never used that expression before in your life. And you people found this on TSL. Have you ever even watched TSL? That surely was a mild comment in comparison. You sure need to grow a backbone and learn to take things in jest. Jeez.

Hey roycemints.... Get your facts straight! Patrick Ryan is NOT a journalist. Just a long time skating fan who was expressing his opinion which I believe he has a right to express same as you do. So get a stiff upper lip and deal with it.

Should we slap Patrick Ryan then? Dude doesn't know about skating but still runs his mouth.
