I started watching this video yesterday, and then literally paused it- purchased the kindle version of the book and started reading it. Couldn't put the book down- finished it before bed, so now I can watch the rest of this video. So great getting the insight from Hank. Gonna let the story settle for a bit, and go back for a leisurely re-read in a few more days. What an excellent story!!

God this book was literally one of my favorites as soon as I finished it. It was so intricate and freaky and weird. There was so much plot and information packed into each page but it was still easy to read, as long as I remembered to slow down a bit. Also the end made me so mad!! Like we all knew April May was coming back but like the book just leaves you hanging in the best and worst way. Also the dream messed with my head a bit it was simultaneously one of the most beautiful sources of human team work and deeply lonely and terrifying to me. I've never had a dream that I remember where I was completely alone. It's such a wild concept, but I also feel like it would be the best thing to explore

This is so relatable - I also liked Hank's book because it didn't have a lot of exposition, it was like right to the point. And I also have the experience of being like, when I have an idea of something I want to write, I want to create it BECAUSE it's different and there isn't already something else like it, and it's the kind of thing I would want to read. Also I have a calculated plan to reach a new level of notoriety. If it works it'll probably happen in about 2 years.

Hi there, you may not ever see this comment, but I just wanted to say many years ago, probably a good seven or eight at this point, that's when I found your channel and started watching. I think a lot of the videos you had back then have been deleted off your channel, mostly vlog-style videos from a much earlier time in your life. I just wanted to say, people like you and others are what inspired me to create my own projects. I know our channels are vastly different from one another, but the inspiration to break free, bust through the camera shyness, voice act, and most importantly, be myself, was because of you and other KZbinrs from back in the day. I'm happy and proud to see how far you've come, from a handful of followers to 1.4 million. Truly amazing and inspiring. So, thank you. It means a lot to me, and I'm sure so many others. Keep being you!

Never seen Hank get this emotional about something. Even though I've been a nerdfighter and have followed Hank & John for years, I feel like this might be the most vulnerable I've seen him. Not a bad thing btw, it's just interesting because that''s the thing with being in the spotlight and a youtuber/ online star. You show people what you want to them to see, which is never really everything.

The book was so good, like you I also went into it not knowing a lot, I thought it will be contemporary story about internet fame, I didn't expect that I'll also get an intriguing story about alien and humanity. Love the mystery so much, the dream (I wish we get to explore more), and the talk about fame, they blended so nicely and I wish there are more books like this, great story but still thought-provoking. I can relate a lot since I also deal with trying to get famous on bookstagram until at some point I was unsure whether that is what I want or not. I'm not like April May but she is very very human, one of a few fictional characters that feel so human to me, making a lot of mistakes and stuff, and I can relate so much on that :') Also Hank teared up is just precious :') Can't wait for the next book, Hank, and your album, Tessa!!!!

I was DYING when you had an arc copy gushing about how great it was but it wasn't actually out to the public yet haha. I really liked it! I think what I enjoyed about AART was that, I mean yes the story obviously lol, but it gives you more to think about than just what's in the story, I suppose. It's very real world based for all the sci-fi elements and mystery. There's so many parallels in April's world that are applicable to our world, and it helped me sort of contextualize my own place in the universe, if that makes any sense at all??? Stuff like that obviously isn't in the book. But it's still something I got out of the book anyway. Reading is wild, my friend. I'm super proud of Hank and am excited for the sequel one day!

Honestly, I learned to recognize the ways in which people's needs were not being met due to a rough childhood--which is why I don't treat people based off their title or status (as people with title and status often long to feel like people again--like they belong to a peer group that cares about them for being them, minus some of the drama that comes with fame or success--the dialog is all very similar, for opposite reasons, to when I talk with the homeless. Isolation is a killer, and you can be very easily isolated surrounded by people). That said, Hank--you need to build a program to teach KZbinrs, and anyone you interview with, how to do an affiliate Amazon page--so that people can drop a link to your book and get paid to do so--and Tessa, you should build that page so I can support you both. I feel this would improve many things about the KZbin community. Cheers!
