AWESOME! I find it kind of interesting how it seems so effortless to you; this track for you is like, or seems like it's lower-register for you, but for me, it would be it would be upper-register notes. AMAZING job by the band too! This is one complex song. You guys nailed it!

I’m not really sure how to answer this question because I just use some basic compression (Logic Pro X preset called “Vocal Hard”) on my voice while I’m tracking. I’m also comping and editing my vocals to use the best words from my best takes. I use Melodyne for manual pitch correction cleanup afterwards. Then I send the raw stems (compressor off, but Melodyne on) to whoever is mixing. I don’t know exactly what is used on my vocals for a final recording when someone else is mixing, but it’s safe to assume there’s some kind of compression, a de-esser (EQ), and light reverb. Any effects (like echoes or lo-fi) are manually/intentionally created for those specific words. I hope this answers your question!

Wow, Tesseract now?! I can't possibly say who is a better singer between Spencer and Daniel Tompkins, but I definitely wouldn't say this is any easier than a Periphery song, and it sounded great! Obviously, this is a different band and singer so I'd expect you to sound a little different. That section from 1:10 to 1:30 and 4:30 to the end sounded really strong, and different from any tone you've used in your Periphery covers. Definitely think you should do more Tesseract now. Tender feels like a good choice.

Sounds great! Some tuning issues on the low end between either the multitracked guitars and bass. Otherwise fantastic.

First of all, the cover as a whole and the instrumental are awesome, the drummer was dynamic, the guitarist's thumping tecnique is something... But i wanted to say a few words specifically about the vocals. My opinion is that you didn't quite get the original feel in few parts of the song. Mostly verses, they sounded as open as choruses, while in the original vocals fluctuate between the belting/other loud stuff and almost whispering lines. I understand that it is the cover, not the complete ripoff, but it's either the ideas from the original work, or some unique ideas of your own. But i feel like there's not enough I hope that this message, if noticed, would not make anyone feel bad. I said it with a good intention, hoping to bring some diversity into the pool of the opinions in the comments and point out the things that i fell like could be improved.

I do get your point that the delivery is different like the 'set me free, take all' part where original is all falsetto and sounds like whispering and here it is very open. But the entirety of the vocals itself are different, male vs female. There are certain ranges/registers that male can't do but a female can and vice versa, so for me I know vocals wise it will not be 1:1 always or could just be a creative decision. It just brings me pure joy knowing how awesome my favorite bands sound with female vocals on it and gives a new perspective to it.
