I just shed a tear. As a music lover for close to 50 years I've NEVER experienced anything, even remotely, as emotionally interacting as of what TesseracT are able bring to the surface. And yes, I've taken early RUSH into consideration. It is amazing how they've been able to elevate the vocals to the same extremely high level as the rest of the band. This is as close to perfection as music ever will be.

Ok, so here's my 2 cents... I accidentally discovered TesseracT with "Altered State" and I fell in love with the album. Tried their older stuff and wasn't feeling it as much as "Altered State". I simply love Ashe's voice and lyrics better than Dan's. However, I admit I decided to give this album a try, and the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I'm starting to view TesseracT like many of their long time fans... Each album should be judged on its own and not compared to other albums. Each album is a different/separate project with its own distinct sound or "flavor" and appreciate it for what it is on its own.

This is fucking stunning, no other way to describe it. The overall progression of this album is beautifully written and the melancholic atmosphere of the soundscapes throughout throw my skin in pimples. It must be said also, Dan's vocal work has matured a lot since "One" and become rather quite stunning, he has taken off brilliantly from where Ashe left TesseracT and continuing the fresher sound the band is achieving. This really is a masterpiece!
@necaacen8 жыл бұрын
I cant stop listening to this album, Tourniquet is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard, brings a tear to my eye. Its been about 15 years since I really paid any attention to metal in all honesty, the genre was sort of dead to me. I think the vocals, the lack of solos, the attention to bass and rhythm, this sound just transcends everything that was wrong with metal for me. Some kind of universal artistic beauty to it, like abstract sculpture it seems to speak a very fundamental language thats beyond any particular genre of music, or even music itself. I think any art that can shake off the trappings of the moment and resonate with you on that raw and candid a level is a rare thing to be cherished. Well done for joining Mike Patton on the 'metal can still be interesting' bench, that was a lonely looking bench in my musical world for a good while there.

I feel like it's more vocal driven than most of their other work, you've still got some nice poly rhythms and guitar work and stuff going on but the vocals are a lot more predominant than early stuff. I would go so far as to say the guitars are a little more rhythm based than before as well.

I cannot begin to express how great they are live. When they played Phoenix, I couldn't contain my emotions. Tears were running down my face as I sung as loud as I possibly could. They're technical masters live. Not a single beat was missed. Every note was nailed. The light show was perfectly synced. They placed in a venue that's notoriously known for having terrible sound and acoustics, from where I'm from. They even defied those odds. I forgot where I was because their sound was impeccable. I've been a fan of Tesseract for quite some time, and I admit that before my first time seeing them live, I began to listen to other bands more than them. I have listened to One, AS, and Polaris so many times and it was losing a bit of magic. After seeing them live, my love for them has never been stronger. Hearing the soaring power and emotion of each song live was something I will never forget. I'm just rambling at this point. I just came here to say that Tesseract has solidified themselves as my favorite band ever in my 26 years of living.

Some of the best material i've heard from tesseract without a doubt, love the mellodic vibe. they bring the most beautyful mellody to a world full of distortion and polyrythms. Jesus Christ...I really don't know what to say...or write...This is the most beautiful piece of music I heard my entire life...I am forever grateful for bringing this masterpiece to life. Serious amount of mantears were shed before, during and after hearing Polaris. PURE PERFECTION

I honestly thought that nothing would be able to beat ALTERED STATE and Skyharbor's GUIDING LIGHTS as my all time favorites but this...OMG...
@nunodias58379 жыл бұрын
+Michał Drobiazg the main problem in alterade state was Ashe ... Dan makes the tesseract sound more unique...and why everyone dont even mention ONE .... their best album ...the reason to linsten Tesseract ..
@MichalDro9 жыл бұрын
+Nuno Dias I must disagree. I started to listen Tesseract after hearing Altered State. It's different from Polaris in almost every possible way but still unique and beautiful. in fact, even though I love Dan and know that everything he participates in instantly turns to gold,I thought that Ashe was a better fit for Tesseract and Dan was perfect for Skyharbor. That is of course until I heard Polaris. Ashe has a beautiful voice, he is a master of harmonies and all but god damn Danny... The best part of it all is that now we have Tesseract with Dan, Eric Emery (another brilliant artist) in Skyharbor and Ashe in VFTF. I could not want anything more...well maybe except a tour with all three of those bands. that would be a dream come true:)

+Michał Drobiazg i second this. I really enjoyed Dan in SKyharbor. Blinding white chaos because it had this raw intensity to it and guiding lights because it was more progressive and more cohesive effort. but now i also like their new singer and drummer. I also love ashe's band vftf too. would really love to see all three tour together.

I am truly fascinated by people that give this album one try and reach early conclussions. Filtering music like a fastfood service, ignoring serious musicians effort to make a record... This album rewires your fucking brain, and the more you listen and understand it, the more you find their decisions in terms of melody, rythm and estructure not only correct, but also the best ones they could have make. SuperB work, guys...
@zackmueller68329 жыл бұрын
God these guys are amazing. They put me in such a trance. I was a bit disappointed when Ashe left because Altered State was off the charts, but Dan stepped up big time. As much as I love Ashe, I love Dan's raw vocals in this. Polaris is an amazing collab between One and Altered State. Well done. One of the most talented artists out there

First thing I noticed when I bought this album, was just how much this hit me. I wasn't expecting such a damn near perfect experience from this album, even though I had huge expectations. And after watching the teaser video so many times, when Seven Names came on, just wow, it's still a perfect climax and filled with power. TesseracT, you are amazing. See you in a month in Melbourne

This album has a real sparseness to it! I love how they can keep all the elements that make TesseracT who they are, while giving us different flavours of it from each album :)
