It would be helpful If you also include the vs code in your tutorial. How we can manage the nuget sources etc in that. Like all the steps with VS code. Its hard time to adapt VS code after all these were really easy in Visual Studio.

Basically the mention that you can update the version number in the csproj will do the trick for VS Code as well. I think we just released a way to manage NuGet packages as part of C# Dev Kit and there are already multiple extensions that allow you to do the same in a very similar way as Visual Studio.
