So, do I have to use the probe tip to locate the cable. Like I see you used the tip to locate the right cable because it played out the same tone as the scanner. What if this was a patch panel? I've traced the right cable back to the switch closet. I confirmed the same way you did that cable is going behind the panel. Now I need to see where it's coming out on the front. I know I can use the tip of the probe on any cables coming out, but what about the ports? Do I have to stick the probe tip in the ports, or can I just plug in an RJ45?

Well I tested it and you can use the RJ45 port on the probe

Yeah can you explain what your doing at the end, I see your change the toner to cable map and it counts up what is exactly going on in this part?

Hadhodwarax e I’m still new at this, But I believe the cable is passing through all 8 stages to confirm it’s fully functional. Ruling out a bad cable.

Like HeDtrax said it is ruling out a bad cable. But to clarify, there are 8 wires in one ethernet line. 4 twisted pairs. It's doing a continuity check on each wire. Each wire passes continuity with a test light 1-8. Sometimes internet connectivity will still be possible with 6 out of 8 wires working but speed will be diminished.
