im a fan of hilux and pickup trucks in general. driven a few hilux, navara, isuzu and triton. gonna reward myself with a 2018 2.8 hilux soon.

Not only Toyota will sold Hilux in Japan but also Nissan should also sell the NP300 Navara, Mitsubishi sell the Triton, Isuzu sell D-Max, & Mazda sell BT-50 for the benefit of the farmers.

@Earl Matthew Avila Exactly, rather than using kei pickups, they could buy atleast these vehicles if Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Isuzu launched their D-Max range in Japan, they would be a competition to see if which pickups are better for the farmers or any people who wanted pickups for a long time.

I was thinking the same too. That's because they have a lot better cargo space so you can carry more stuff. With those tiny little kei trucks, you can't carry very much so why not have a Hilux, Navara, BT-50, Triton or D-Max?

@@josephrowe849 Japan's stringent laws and excise duties on large vehicles, and Japanese's hate on pickup trucks prevented global-bound pickups like NP300 from being sold there. The Hilux was resurrected in Japan due to grey market and fan demand.

This is not KD sound, this is the new GD engine for hilux which more efficient, powerfull, and aggresive truck

I noticed that some of the Toyota GD engines have similar starter sound of the older Toyota KD engines in other markets. Although here in the Philippines, the GD engines don’t have the same KD starter sound.
