It must be really fun to drive these dream coaches. We can all dream about having the resources to own and operate one! We have been very fortunate to have had seven coaches since 1986. The last few were higher end pushers, but not at the Prevost level. Still enjoy seeing your videos to see what it might be like. Good luck in finding your next coach. You should have the opportunity to find a coach that will met your needs and be safe!

I love the overall unit. But I find the drivers side A pillar window distractingly small. The top of the window is at eye height. Yes generally you are looking down on the world. But in tight maneuvering areas, that lack of height visibility I would find a headache and makes me feel to restrained. I think most of that is interior cladding, But i would have it removed for max visibility, but thats just me. Its Kinda like the center windshield pillar too. I prefer one piece windshields. Did you not feel limited in that side glass? Perhaps youve driven similar and I've never noticed.

There's an absolutely stunning 2007 country coach 45 ft tag, quad slide, 530 in Oregon with only 12,000 miles I saw on the country coach forum. Not really being marketed, but completely gone through. New tires, batteries, etc. It's the only one of its kind left on the planet.

First off, Shea is so cute/charming. Im not sure if this is a scenario you care to advise but......I have a Country Coach Magna 98. Like most any older coach(especially in good shape) one would buy today the prices far exceed the book values. The prices have risen substantially. I only full coverage mine when Im on the road. If someone has the unfortunate scenario you had, what are things to consider insurance wise so that you can recoup what one has invested? In vehicles, a good insurance company will go by sales data if there is a discrepancy in real value. However, coaches value can fluctuate so much by condition and a much smaller data reference. Love your channel, learned so much!

A lifting or steering tag axle does not decrease the actual physical turning radius. The actual turning radius is determined by the distance between the steering or front axle and the rear drive axle. This distance doesn't change by lifting the tag axle. It does reduce dragging the tires of the tag axle during a tight turn. This obviously reduces tire wear while also decreasing stress on the chassis by not dragging the tires across the pavement. The true "pivot point" of the chassis does not change.
@DLTJR19592 жыл бұрын
Agree. Some tags that don't lift have a tag dump that reduces the weight on the tag as the turn is made to reduce scrubbing. Our Wanderlodge does that and then automatically inflates the tag once you reach 15 MPH. Independent front suspension reduces turning radius by increasing wheel cut to typically 55 degrees. Solid front axle wheel cuts are typically in the 50 degree range. Downside is increased maintenance of the IFS systems but ride control is much better crossing expansion joints etc.
@RVingwithAndrewSteele2 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you. Turn a coach around with tag up and the tag down and let me know your results.
@DLTJR19592 жыл бұрын
@@RVingwithAndrewSteele I have. The tag tires scuff. Why? They are following the drive axle. If the tags were powered that would be the pivot point. You have your opinion. I have my experience.

Andrew - I'm not sure if Prevost has changed their policy, but in my Vantaré Prevost XL's Operator's Manual it specifically states "Do not raise or lower the tag axle while the coach is underway. Only do so while the coach is stationary." You might want to research this before your next Prevost test drive. On another note, Shea adds a lot to your videos, as her perspective is much different than yours. You two make a good team.
@RVingwithAndrewSteele2 жыл бұрын
This is a liftable tag. Different then the older xls
@RustySax19492 жыл бұрын
@@RVingwithAndrewSteele - Well, after doing a whole bunch of research, it appears we're both right. Apparently, when Prevost redesigned the rear engine compartment to accommodate the Series 60 engines in the XL chassis starting in 1995, they modified the tag axle suspension to allow it to be raised or lowered while moving. Prior to 1995, their recommendation was to only raise/lower the tags when stopped - which is what's written in my '92 Operator's Manual.

Nice Motorcoach but lost me at the snake skin look. Love how quiet it is but hear a lot of rear end noise? Maybe it was tire noise in the rear from all the weight. Love the idea about raising the tag axel for sharper turns. Would be nice to see it engaged with a go pro but I know its tight space in that area.
