For me it’s missing a few things that TDU had that made it different and special! You had so many dealers with different cars in TDU2 now they’ve all been put into country groups and the same dealer has the exact same car 3 times so the options are very limited! Also another part of TDU that was amazing was buying your own house and having realistic storage capacity, the whole “hotel” thing is just not sitting right and the futuristic stuff just feels abit cheap! Not many clothing options, I know it’s a racing game but these little extra details outside of racing is what TDU did well! The game is ace but the AI is terrible! After a couple wins they will go to expert level and you’ll be stuck claiming 4th or 5th positions for the rest of your game all in all I feel like it’s actually a big step down from TDU2 but I know there is a lot of time to improve it through DLC and updates but at launch it’s a good 8/10 whereas TDU2 was a definite 11/10

Sounds like a lot of the good stuff is locked. Is it a grind to lvl up or fairly easy?

It is a grind, but there are plenty of opportunities for XP and Money. Just driving around and discovering roads give you chunks of XP along with the hundreds of collectibles that are around the map that give you money/XP/Clan Rep. Heck, there are ALOT of speed traps that you can run around and do that give chunks of money as well.
