Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s Customization is GOOD But Different.. - Here’s Why

What’s up Guys!! In this video I talk about the customization that’s in the Solar Crown Demo. I feel like it will have lots of mixed opinions but I wanted to talk about this and give my thoughts!! I think many won’t like the customization because of the lack of it, this game will not be like Need For Speed or The Crew Motorest but I also don’t think they were aiming for this game to have crazy body kits!! I personally like the way it is because it’s simple in a cool way and wasn’t aiming for some crazy body kits or cambered wheels like you’d see in Need For Speed!! Im sorry but if gt7 can have different splitters, diffuser and wings and other small things that dont really change the car much but just enhance it i feel like thats what this game should do. But i also feel like this demo locked a lot of stuff away like a demo should be. Its a tease but if i can wrap my car and put stickers and stuff on it then i should be able to put after market aero and cosmetic parts on my car.

Gran Turismo 7 is a competitive track racing game. The aftermarket aero parts belong in that title. You've clearly never played any of the older TDU titles and if you have, you should know TDU isn't just about racing and competitiveness. TDU is about class, originality, the appreciation of all vehicles for what they are, not what they are modified to become. I love keeping cars original, I like the stock appearance, you appreciate and feel more connected with the history of the vehicle that way. I am glad they are not giving in to the ricers and introducing flamboyant, downright absurd and high profile modifications to the vehicles in the game. They've kept the game original and stemmed it to the roots of TDU 1 and 2, the physics even feel the same. I have been waiting for this title for over a decade now.

They really do sound great, The Audi TTRS sounds 🤌 I’m also wondering if they will add more wheels or even color options, seems like they left it open to that 🤔

@@KingdomTwelve I think this as well, you know what’s crazy to me is I like how they’re actually leaving it open to so many things in the future!! Having a smaller budget and dev team doesn’t mean things won’t be added but it will take longer and I’m completely good with it 💪

@Blockedinsight kind of agree .. ubisofts rng model is probably the biggest thing that takes away from games longevity to me. However I do know they have work life balance in France lol so those 6 hr days with a mid day nap no Bueno 😂

I honestly feel like that if you can make drift cars the i want a loud bodykit and not just a sleeper build at best. And the fact there are performance upgrades make the no external customisation is like really bad honestly because people do not like it when you can do one thing and then not be allowed to do things at least close to what you want... And honestly yes that's a dealbreaker that it's not day one, but the fact they talk on their website of that you cán make a drift car makes me think that either there is a painfully big miscommunication between their website, devs and content creators or that they try to tease things but in the end hurt the community because of misinformation... Wich could end studio's early easily so this needs to be stated clearly since that is a big problem...

And if i'm honest having the most un aerodynamic bodykits in a racing game is stranger than with a driving game where it's basicly more meant to show off your car thus your car does not need to be fast thus leaning in heavily customised somewhat normal cars actually work better for basicly chill driving...

Test Drive Never been about Customisation though was the same in older games we are lucky to be getting aftermarket wheels really doesn’t bother me Really Test Drive about the joys of automotive factory cars and living the rich life basically it’s like living a real life in a virtual game if you get me

I agree on this, from the things I saw it was never a big thing that was in the Franchise!! I actually kind of like the simplicity of it, and as you mentioned they can always add more in future updates

for sure they can you see million dollar cars with crazy wraps and kits so it’s possible but keeping the DNA of test drive at launch is vital as you know Test Drive is basically us living a rich life in a virtual space

Oh so I have everything on Medium Except the characters and Water effects, those 2 things are on low which helped my performance a bit!! My specs are: (Computer is a MSI Sword laptop) CPU: Intel core i7 VGA Geoforce RTX3060/6Gb HDD 1TB SSD RAM DDR4 16GB I want to mention I don’t know an whole lot with PC specs lol

i dont mind that at all either. Sure customisation is limited but i feel like the TD series is a bit more sim like, you can interact a lot more with the actual car (indicators, windows, bringing the roof down or back up etc) and as you said it’s more of a driving game than a racing one, such a key distinction

so i guess theres not upgrades like motor ect like unbound they should add wheel coloring if body can be they should.. so looking at the game play even other cars ect looks like some other games do not like nfs forza so i might cancel my pre-order and wait

I literally dont care about customisation, I prefer my cars in video games to be stock. You appreciate them more that way. The only people that care about customisation in this game are the cringe boy racers. If you care about customisation, go play NFS Unbound. Test Drive Unlimited is the true car enthusiast's game.

Even playing the Beta I enjoyed the way the cars felt and can’t wait to try them in the full game, I could see them adding Rims and special editions of the models in the future though

@@Blockedinsight, well, body kits have been confirmed, but I don't think they're coming with the release. I think more customisation is coming as the game rolls on. Ibiza has been confirmed as a separate map, so that's good, it'll feel like the old TDU games, after Ibiza, they'll probably add Hawaii which will directly compete with Motorfest at that point.

@@Blockedinsight that's a good point, it looks ok, I think I'm more interested in the map size, exploration etc, it's cool to have something different. I'm really big on how they're limiting access to every hypercar, luxury car etc, , I think FH should learn from this, yeah I have over 800 cars but, they don't matter as much because I have so many, if that makes sense.
