I Don’t think the casino will be on Ibiza, but I agree with everything in terms of improving the gameplay elements, networking, optimization etc. they’re on the right track right now, they can’t slip this up

houses are Y2, and I can't see them finishing the ENTIRE map within a year, this seems like a 2 year job but they can populate the districts with races, missions, houses, dealers, etc as they go. Maybe every 2 seasons we get an expansion, no idea. I just hope we see them finish it though. The map SLAPS.

What do you mean nothing in it? It’s a really good chunk of map. Feels like around the same size as Motorfest to me. Would be nice tho with full Ibiza. But just having this is great. Like a little vacation from HK Island, which is a brilliant map.

Houses would be awesome (and should be way higher on the priority list than a casino) but TDU, at its core, is about the experience of driving a car. A large, inviting, visually pleasing map, is a lot more crucial to achieve that than any peripheral lifestyle element could be. Unlike TDU 2, SC has competent physics and realistic, immersive visuals. The only thing missing is a landscape that isn't too repetitive so players can enjoy driving cars without feeling like hamsters in a wheel after 5 minutes. And set in a right-side driving location that won't alienate 90% of the potential customer base.

I loved Ibiza in TDU2 way more than I ever did Oahu, because those tight country roads and the coastal routes were just so nice for cruising. If they can get the whole map back in, once houses and fingers crossed, delivery missions appear, it really will feel like TDU to me.

@@GoldenEDM_2018 A lot of old games were not like that at all. A lot of old games were worse than games releasing today. You just don’t remember. Idk why people look at the past as if it was perfect because it was definitely not perfect 😂 I do think that this game could’ve been much better and I do think that the decision to make it always online was a bad decision (probably Nacon’s fault, not the actual developer.) But for the budget and team (a team of 90 people made this game), I think it’s a very good game. The maps, exploration, off roading, physics, handling, races and race layouts are better and more fun than any other racing game out right now, including the big budget Forza games. And the whole experience of test driving cars, saving up to buy your favorite cars, cruising, being able to open the roof, use turn signals… is like nothing else. This is the game that needed a big budget and a big team of 500 people… not Forza or need for speed. Unfortunately Nacon & KT are not on that level. Edit: Also, forza and need for speed have a lot of experience making these types of games and this is Kylotonn’s first time making a big, open-world racing game like this. If they had a bigger budget and a bigger team, this would’ve easily been the best open world racing game. No doubt. This is why I hope they keep going and keep improving the game

@nayz i don't remember any mainstream racing games from the 2000s that released with a map unfinished. The truth is that devs have became so lazy just because they could fix it post launch. Optimization? Nah we'll just update it 6 months from now. Map unfinished? Nah lets just block the unfinished section and update it later we need them buyers $$ first. Please, open your eyes. These devs are churning out unbaked games that they will fix long after post launch and have the audacity to sell them games expensively. If they lack the manpower then its not the player's problem. It does not excuse them from criticism.

There’s short roads, long roads, tight toads, wide roads, amazing towns, neon lit cities, the verticality is the best i’ve seen in any racing game. Love the mountains, off road, trail roads, etc. And the coastal areas are just *chef’s kiss* You gotta give them credit where credit is due. Plus this game was not a full price game. It was like 20€-30€ cheaper. Full price in Europe is 79€. This game cost 49€. Full price premium edition in Europe costs 109€, this game’s premium edition cost 89€ And they’re giving us the casino for free. The casino came out after release for TDU2 and it cost money. But don’t get me wrong, I’m with you when it comes to these online-only, season/battle pass type of games. It’s horrible. I would much rather prefer they just worked on the game for another 2-3 years and add all these things to the base game. And constructive criticism is a good thing. What is not good is not giving credit where credit is due. And saying that games used to be perfect compared to today, which is not true. I love a lot of old games, but PS2, PS3 and xbox 360 era games were super cheap, buggy, glitchy and unoptimized.

Ibiza certainly has more of the wide open feeling I associate with Test Drive Unlimited, even in the cities because the buildings are mostly low-rise meaning the streets don't feel as much like you're driving at the bottom of a manmade canyon the way Hong Kong streets do. I still don't think I'm buying the game in the near future but a little more of Ibiza would certainly increase the likelihood that I will eventually give in.

Even if it takes 5 years to complete Ibiza, I think they should totally do it. By that point, the game will be much better and having a full remake of Ibiza would be absolutely awesome. HKI would be the starting area and introduction to TDUSC. Then, just like in TDU2 (but reversed) you head to another island to complete the game. I am really looking forward to what they cook up. As long as they keep their head up high and putting in the work to improve the game, TDUSC will become an absolute banger.

If they expand to cover the whole island and it's no smaller than Motorfest's current map (at least 45-55 min to drive around the map depending on car category), I'm definitely buying this game. Hopefully they have set their priorities in the right order and put this ahead of the casino and gang wars nonsense. At least there's hope now.

Scs software built their fortune on this method, they started eurotruck simulator in 2012 with just part of France part of Italy uk and Central Europe, and they ended up expanding to the whole Europe releasing new dlc maps every year, while doing the same with the American counter part American Truck simulator… So they don’t need to create a new game with a new engine each year but just update graphics and physics of the same engine… And we players are happy like this because in this way these games are NEVER GONNA DIE hopefully this is the direction where other software houses are going too…

Yes and no, depends on the dev studio really. Lots of games have visible placeholders, reference assets, spawners, ect. Right outside of the player's normal view. Usually these are moved under the floor of a playable area but it's not too uncommon to just move them far enough away that they aren't visible or don't render.

Of course they extend map later. Look on roads they ends but you can go for few seconds. KT can block that roads but they didnt 😀

I actually commented the expanding of Ibiza as an idea in a video from Kireth 3 months ago (Test Drive Unlimited Just Gave Us EVERYTHING We Wanted (Honest Thoughts!)). Which is: "I hope that we will get the whole island of Ibiza eventually. If they can bring 3 to 6-month updates to it with maybe first expanding in the direction of the airport, then to santa eularia for example that would be really nice" Im not a developer so I don't know how long it will take to perfect an area. But if they for example can finish the eastern side of the El-300 highway and the southern side of the El-700 (until it intersects with the street Disseminat sa Caleta) in 1-1.5 years, maybe 2 years you will have a big amount of extra map to explore in that timeframe. (These are just time speculations which I think are doable for a game)

Sadly they couldnt bring the TDU formula to HongKong. And now they try again with the way smaller map of a town on Ibiza? The weather and atmosphere is nice but the gameplay is the same... I kinda think they put some Ibiza from TDU2 as a proof- of- concept into the game, switched to more intersting HK and now rediscover it as extra content.

I was wondering if someone would figure this out. Just a note on this. There is a better way to get under the water. It will work first try every time. I can also get underwater on Hong Kong as well. Might make a vid of all of it if I have time to do so. I also have a lot of other spots you can get to as well.I Know a spot to get a 600 meter jump too.. in map.

I'm glad you found this I may rip the ibiza map from game and have a look at it in blender see what is actually there and somepoint drive it in game with this glitch. So oddly I've tried with a few cars now I get on the boat no issue and spawn but not underneath many attempts and still nothing I tried exactly same car as in your video and 2nd attempt I'm under the boat like your video why I'm unsure if it's something to do with form factor or something else.

Maybe you understood wrong about ACE. The map won't be fully released. Only the surrounding roads around the track, later on they will keep expanding the map until they hit the mark of 1600km². Beyond that there is no plans until now

I didn’t mislead anyone. First of all I only mentioned the ranked reward vehicles, nothing else. In that same video I made, I mentioned the Battista would be available to all players in a dealership the season after ranked players get it. So in Season 3, it’ll be available in a dealership.
