Looks like a few bits common to the mk1 golf? Those door handles are very similar at least.

Brilliant little cars. Had 2 both Mars Red last one written off by an uninsured vicar! Still remember on the 1st of august so many people complaining about the poor brakes! I had the four light grille from VW on mine.

Ah that brings back memories. We had a facelift breadvan and it was a real hoot to drive, properly engaging and old school. It shat its plastic thermostat housing bolts coming home once and we managed to get it home by borrowing a couple of the wing fasteners. Great little car, replaced with a K12 Micra, which is just as much fun.

I had a C Formel E 1300 with 5spd in that colour and I loved it and wish I sill had it... I still think that it is very pretty especially with the twin headlights and spoiler.

No power steering, no servo assisted brake etc…i had one for a year when i was a student, classic version, great for wizzing to Manchester and back

The walking talking backside that is Clarkson constantly moaned about the lack of a servo. Then one day on the M4 just outside Newport, the traffic stopped dead in front of me. I stopped, the clown in the 3 series BMW with a servo and ABS behind me didn't stop. The polo was fine.
