@@sciencehelp9693 the acids in our lab won't do us that amount of harm as the acids in market. If by chance a concentrated solution falls in your skin just wash in quickly and apply a base to it and you'll be absolutely fine

For prelims test of chloride we should heat the sample+conc. H2so4 for getting the dense fumes easily after bringing the glass rod.

To a little of salt conc h2so4 is added and (HEATED), colourless gas which gives dense white fumes when glass rod dipped in nh4oh is shown.you need to heat it mam.

Good demonstration. While reading these tests, the fineness/details about actually doing is easy to be ignored. Like the point if you bring the glass rod dipped in NH4OH or NH3 after a little long the white fumes from the reaction of HCl and NH4OH to produce NH4Cl may not be seen because the gas can already escape. It had happened to me too and I was a little disappointed about what I did wrong.
