I have the Katipo trail version. But a Fox 36 150mm up front. Rotorua is my home and the first thing I noticed was the small bump sensitivity was amazing. 6 months later and I still can't stop smiling.

I’ve had a lot of MTBs since 1987, but after a year on a Katipo I can’t go back to a derailleur or a cassette. The shifting becomes second nature quickly. There are a few tiny changes I’d make, but it’s pretty amazing.
@TheMaoriThatBikes2 жыл бұрын
Cheers for this comment Will and it might be a bit of confirmation bias on my side but im definitely over having a cassette and derailleur as well. Can't wait to have my own ZERODE like you!
@bestdayevermtb22 жыл бұрын
I have the Taniwha and didn't change the chain for three years. I only did it then as I was going to Whistler. Normally a cassette lasts 12 months so the zerode is much cheaper to maintain. You can crash as often as you like and the gears always work. The gear changing takes awhile to get used to but has many advantages. My favourite is stalling on a sudden steep section. Drop 6 gears in one go and then power up in full load. No derailleur in the world can do that. Just waiting for the zerode e bike.

Love the feedback thanks Lance and appreciate your comment and watching the channel. I hope that ZERODE comes too the party with an E!

Get one! Rear suspension is better than anything else. Handling is awesome with the gearbox putting the weight low and centred. Gearbox took me 5 minutes to get used to.

I've had this bike for 6 months - it's the best. Absolutely love it. I've but coil on the rear suspension as well and it's buttery smooth. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the bike. Now I want to try the new effigear 9-speed gearbox. For reference I ride enduro on the BC coast and regularly hit 5-8ft drops and jumps. If I was riding more cross country style, or trail riding, I would probably want a bit lighter bike but for pedaling up and ripping down, this is awesome. Plus for me with all coil, I only have to do my bigger maintenance once a year during the winter when the riding sucks, so no downtime during the summer season.

Great edit Tommo. I think you will find any 29er different. If you get it and try it on your local trails you will notice find out if it is better for you. Getting a demo isn’t easy in this day and age though!
@TheMaoriThatBikes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Jase. I've not really ridden many 29r's and making the switch now seems right and justified. I instantly noticed the difference in ride feel and handling and surprisingly the weight of the KATIPO "felt" lighter than my SC Nomad despite being a chonky 17kgs! I'm thankful i had a helping hand in getting a demo sorted. Cheers for watching as always bro!

@@TheMaoriThatBikes wow 17kg. think my ebike weight is that! My Pivot is around 14.5-15 and it feells pretty nimble for a big bike. Come join the 29 club.

Once gave one a test ride down foo fighter at arapuke and found that the best time to shift is about (at low speed) a bike length before you need to

Ooooh yo the Mullet! How do you find it bro? Any thing to mention for a potential buyer?
@shogaxx2 жыл бұрын
Zerode’s centred balance is different, so it takes a while to adjust to. Mulét feels great down hill, stable but still so fun to jump, pop off stuff and change direction quickly
