Man I've always want to build a 1/16 German WW2 tank but the offerings were always $200+ Trumpeter kit with full-interior and 1000+ bits. Thank you Andy and Das Werk for these offerings and please keep it coming! Panther or Panzer iv in the mid $100 range? I would buy them for sure.

Just built the RFM 1/35 full interior Panther. Seemed like half needed tweezers to assemble, not good for these old eyes. Bring on the reasonably priced 1/16 scale!

Andy, I found your channel about 5 days ago and I have binged on many of your videos. What sets your channel apart from so many others is that you do beautiful models that makes me think even I could do it! Many channels try to go above and beyond to show off their own skills but it makes me feel like I could never achieve such results. You make it look good, but also like everyone can enjoy models. I hope this comment comes across the way way I intended. Basically, you rock! I wanted to ask, since Battleship Texas is going into drydock soon for a major hull rebuild would you build a model of Texas to shed more light on such a rich historical ship? Thank you for your channel bud. I am definitely a subscriber now.

Hi Joshua Harrington. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing to my channel. That is my mission, to take the intimidation out of modeling. It should be a fun experience and there is always room for improvement. I appreciate your kind words - that is exactly what I wanted my channel to be. Best regards - Andy

The Pz III Ausf G was another iconic panzer in N Africa and Russia
@IJNavy3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree Gilbert! The G was the main battle tank of the first months of Barbarossa and made up a large number, if not most, of the Panzer 3s that began arriving in North Africa, March 1941. Love the early running gear, turret, and L42 of those variants! I’ll still get this one though! 😁

Awesome kit!!!! Good thing you did not tell the manufacturer that you would like to have seen a Panzer IIIA or IIIB, that probably would have messed with their heads. Come to think of it, I would like to see a Panzer IIIA or IIIB as well created with the newer technology.
@johnhughes26533 жыл бұрын
I can't help but feel that at this scale, if you don't also have a full interior & engine bay, you're only getting half a kit. I've got a good number of the Trumpeter 1/16 tanks and it does make a real difference, I can tell you!
@nitzerebbhead3 жыл бұрын
All of these new 1/16 scale kits will be popular with the 1/16 R/C tank crowd for kitbashing or conversion to R/C. Talk is already started about adding the upper hulls to a Taigen lower or a Heng Long lower depending on whether or not they fit those R/C hulls with out too much modifications. The detail is much better than the Heng Long R/C tanks.

A great stand model of the Panzer 3 Ausf J, very suitable for dioramas. You could also use it as a spare parts dispenser for the 1:16 RC Panzer III models from Heng long to fix certain errors! might also be worth considering. You don't have to do it, but you could or not?

Could do with may be a commanders set and a little more inside the turret, then you can have the hatches open.

I'd like to see the #4 flack gun version in this scale with figures. The reason of the armour on the J sides and turret was to make them look like a Tiger tank from far off.

Does the shrouded blackout drive lamp cover have "Notek" manufacturer logo on top? Last part in row below the final drive housing plates at around 14:43? A friend of mine hand built a full scale PzKwIIIJ using M113A2 drive train and tracks/suspension. It was sold to a museum in Canada a few years ago but he built a Panzer II Luchs to replace it. The Panzerwerk in Grand Junction CO. That all started when he bought an original Luftwaffe Belt Buckle for $20, he's a brilliant and self-made millionaire.
@adlerarmory83823 жыл бұрын
If they can put the Continental logo on the roadwheel rubber then they can make a genuine Notek lamp the 1:16 scale demands it!

Congratulations Andy on your influence regarding these great kits. If I may possibly influence you.....:) Since the hatches have nice interior detail can Das Werk please work on some interior parts. I am asking for through the hatch detail like Verlinden used to sell. Perhaps it could be an add on kit. If they ever had the desire for a full interior then maybe the through the hatch details could be a separate sub kit. This could be the start of another highly desired feature associated with your influence on these kits and I hope this will lead to many more kits you guys produce!

@SouthernMercenary3 жыл бұрын
Looking at the sprues it does look like the breach and sighting of the main cannon are included.
@uraigroves78983 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernMercenary thanks....I was just looking at that. Plus it appears that the ventilation fan on the ceiling is there as well as a few other things. However, if I wanted to have the hatches open it appears I would have to do a lot of work on all the other stuff in the turret and I'm not the best scratch builder. Looking like the hatches will have to be closed on mine. BTW I'm hoping to do a dark yellow base with green camo and I'm looking into some units that would have had that paint job....any opinions?

IF ONLY you'd get as excited about bringing out a 1/16 Panzer II Ausf F [as used in North Africa and Kursk], as you are about your personal favourite Panzer III. Everybody and their dog is doing Panzer / Stug III in 1/16 - Trumpeter / Hobby Boss, Takom via Das Werk / Heller [just reboxed Takom]... Yet nobody does a large scale static model of the Panzer II. What has that tank done to offend people? Probably one of the most versatile and used tank platforms of the the first half of WW2 - including Kursk in 1943! Perhaps you have some insight as to why everyone has been so keen in the industry to leapfrog the Panzer II..? It seems like a prime candidate for a small tank that needs a bigger scale... I imagine a Type 95 Ha-Go would also be amazing in 1/16-and popular, even though it isn't German.
