The ascend to Tabla Butii | V-Stromania Wild | Suzuki V-Strom,Yamaha Tenere 700,AfricaTwin,KTM 1190

We gear up, pack up our tents and head towards Tabla Butii. The first part of the day finds us on easy-going offroad. The occasional mud and rocks but nothing out of te ordinary. The ascend to Tabla Butii though is made even more interesting by the huge ditches and loose rocks. Once on the plateau however the view is absolutely magnificent. We stop briefly at the Heroe's Cemetery and near the Maneciu dam. As night falls we need to find a place to camp. One river crossing later, we managed to find the perfect spot.
Our motorcycles: Suzuki V-Strom XT, Honda Africa Twin DCT si manuala, Yamaha Tenere 700, Honda Dominator, Yamaha XT 600, KTM 1190 Adventure R.

As always, I love your vids for the great scenery, the great terrain,the teamwork and the riding. You guys show over there the manufacturer of a bike does not matter, what you have- you ride, through all types of tough and tame terrain. Here in the states you always get that a Vstrom1000 is not for off road. HMM, I have mine since new in '14 and it goes where I want it to go.Of course I DO have it set up to do it better than stock. Maybe not perfect but as a decent rider it gets me there. I love you guys riding everything, no judgement on bikes -just ride! Just incredible scenery in places not often seen. Thank you for sharing your great rides with us guys! Please keep them coming!!!

Thank you so much. I get the "this is better than that", "you should go lighter" etc. Which is always good feedback, especially going lighter. I always tend to think going with whatever bike you have (within reasonable limits) is the best choice. Many people expect X or Y to go on that dream ride and miss the point. Just ride, stay safe and enjoy! :)

What about a 690 or 701? Seen a luggage rack fitted to a 701 (they added an extra reinforcement between the actual rack and footpegs to support more weight. Both seem pretty light and easy to adventurize (larger tank, windshiels, luggage), and weigh in the 160kgs range.

@@motorcyclingTo A friend has a 701 and he said it is not comfortable for long interstate travel. He trailers it to longer distance places instead. My typical ride is 2 hours on interstate often cruising at 90mph, then 4 hours riding trails with gravel and mud, then 2 hours back home before dark. A smooth twin cylinder bike like a 490 should be great for such riding.

​@@jonasbaine3538​Oh, I get it now. That is why I do not like "this bike is better or that one is better". Depends on the use case as well as other skills. I saw an overlanding - modified 690 while in Mongolia (bigger tank, fairing, luggage rack, etc). Ever since seeing that and how light it was it remained in the back of my mind as the ultimate adv bike - good for coverling miles in relative confort, good for offroading at a decent pace and skill level.
