I first saw Testament live in the fall of 1987 as the opening act for Anthrax in Essen, Germany. I had never heard of them before. Never stopped listening to them since.

I don't think it's the best debut. We also have Alice In Hell by Annihilator. It isn't better than The Legacy, but they are equally good, so I think they are the two best debuts.

I can't think of any thrash debut album that got to this level. It was mind blowing at the time. If it was released today, with modern, heavier production and Chuck's death growling, would be fantastic!! Masterpiece indeed!🤘🤘

Young Metal musicians should also pay attention to the songs structure,, it’s an art to write and record music that lasts decades. Great album to learn how to be what you want. This is a beautifully remastered album.

Ordered this from Rockway records store after reading about them and hearing some of it. i got it on cd it came in the long form box, the drummer from FF was working there and handed it to me way back. Saw them a bunch of times, at the troubador with violence and at the country club many times, also went to the show in ventura where Louie quit the band they canelled the show said they would make it up but never did and lost out. Wish i could afford this remaster on vinyl though.
