We build and test drive the new DJI RoboMaster S1, an RC robot that has a powerful drive system, blaster capabilities, and robust programming potential. We found that it was really fun to assemble and were really impressed with its responsiveness and FPV control. There's a lot to unpack here!

I spotted those wheels and knew right away it would do things other RC's couldn't, but I wasn't expecting the fluid response, this is a game changer. all we need now is a Tony Stark ARC reactor to power it.

I would LOVE *LOVE* *_LOVE_* to see them develop a legged robot like Boston Dynamics and turn it into a kit. I'd love it even more to see the two companies partner up for development projects and competitions like this. I'll just have to settle watching James Bruton's open source project for now, and the occasional update from BD, but it's still something I'm praying for.

That's honestly an awesome price for this thing, and building it is a good experience anyway, especially considering it's meant to be an educational tool. Numerous brushless motors and escs, sensors, the camera, rest of the control system, a gimballed gun, etc. adds up. I'm honestly surprised it's not more expensive. I imagine they don't include a remote because many schools provide students with iPads (not to mention many people have one already). So it keeps the cost down, they'd have to basically have their own tablet to give the same functionality.

Robotics is my life, and I have to say it is very nice, only warning about mecanum wheels, they are very prone to small debris, the rollers can get stuck when outside, they are very difficult to clean, but they are very fun. I wish that you could put a gimbal on it such as ronin s for very fast ground shots
