I stopped trying not to sin years ago. I found with complete commitment, God changes your desires, and you simply do not want to sin. It’s our love for God that makes us hate sin. However, as you said, we are all sinners. As long as we aren’t living “in” sin. Our flesh makes us “sinners,” our “desires”make us “live in sin”. I use to listen to Skynard growing up. Loved the southern rock, but your song Jesus Christ brought tears to my eyes. Love it!

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't a testimony supposed to be how you came to Christ and about salvation? Believing is one thing and being born again is different, just saying you believe is not what the Bible says is true conversion. I am not saying you Gents are not saved, but being from the south you should know the difference. Jesus said if you are not born again you cannot SEE the kingdom of God. John ch 3 there is more to salvation than just saying you believe. The Bible says many will be turned away on judgement day (paraphrased) Jesus will say I never knew you. He cannot possibly know you if you have never had a personal relationship with him. Again I am not saying you do not I am saying this to anyone who reads this read the book of John and the book of Romans then you will have a picture of what Jesus says is true salvation.

While we tend to think in Christian circles that one’s testimony is supposed to tell how one came to faith, a testimony about one’s faith does not require telling how you came to faith. You could be giving a testimony about the power of prayer, or a recent work of God in your life after salvation, or of the person of Jesus Christ to a lost person. You are testifying about your experience… what you have seen the Lord do. Churches have reduced “testimony about coming to faith” to just “testimony”, sometimes causing people to think “testimony” is strictly about coming to faith. A testimony has far broader applications and the world needs to hear the reality of what Christ is doing in your life as a born again believer in Christ, not just how you got save many years ago. What He’s done lately in your life becomes an important testimony to a lost world.
