This video is one that convinced me to buy this rod. For a complete novice it's great. 6.5lb line on it and I caught a new 14lb PB Mirror. Love it

Been using one of these rods for a few months now and have to say I'm really pleased with it. I've paired it with a little Sonik Commercial 3000 reel. So 40 quid total. Had fish upto 10lb so far and it's coped with ease. Lovely feel to it, light weight and great value for money. Some rods at this price point are to be avoided so for a youngster starting out or like me 50 odd and starting again well worth checking out.

Hi Westy , I have both the feeder rod and the float rod, with a phase 1 reel to use on the float rod. All I can say that it's the best money I've spent on fishing gear ,even though I paid full price for rods and reel , they are possibly the best bits of kit I have used in a long time . There is a video on yt with the guy that ,I think runs korum , give it a watch,very informative, tight lines to you both 👍

I really enjoyed your video - thanks for posting. I’m going fishing for the first time in 45 years this summer. I’m taking my ten-year-old son and we’ll both be using Korum Phase 1 float rods (11 ft) which are so light I was a bit worried they wouldn’t be strong enough. Now your video has reassured me. I have a Korum reel for myself and a Shimano for my son. The shops don’t appear to stock Mitchell 324’s anymore! 😉

I bought one of these with the matching reel last summer as I wanted to do some commercial fishing with my mate and didn’t want to spend a fortune incase the fishery wasn’t great. Well nearly 12 months on and the rod/reel, commercial are performing great. The phase one has handled fish to low doubles with no issues what so ever.

I got one of these and a korum reel when they first came out as didnt want to spend a fortune and at first wasnt sure about it but it had no trouble with a 12lb carp at mollys i think you would find it hard to get a lighter rod for anyware near the money even at full price and for £15 its worth having in the shed as a spare rod i fished fan lodge on saturday and the fish have started spawnung its was crazy another great vid 👍

Definitely! That’s why I snapped a couple up, just in case ! I have kept one and given one to my grandad 👌🏻 I do think they are going for a second round of spawning, you just have to hit it lucky at this time of year don’t you ! Currently on a break in the heat of the day. After visiting Coppul Anglers for tackle supplies and some maggots for when the grandson comes visiting at Heskin Old Hall fishery Thursday. Could not pass the ‘Original Farmers Arms’ as I needed change for all the honesty boxes on this A49 tour (now calling it part 1 as there is so much to cover). Whilst refreshing myself I asked ‘why is it called the ‘Original’? Answer was ‘because it is the original one in the village’ It is good to be back ‘ome 😅
@chrisdevine2507 Жыл бұрын
Some lovely looking fish in that pond of yours 😊🎣🎣, been teaching my grandson but so far only on the float , ( I’m old school 😂😂) , think I’ll get him one of those phase 1s , like you and everyone is saying ideal for a beginner, plus they look pukka 😊, he has been dying to use the feeder rod , but I wanted him to learn the float first ( bad grandad 😂) brilliant review 😊😊
@WestysAngling Жыл бұрын
You know what Chris, as much as I think the feeder is easier and more enjoyable (less to think about and easier to teach) I think you have done the right thing showing him the float first, teaches patience and concentration a few other things that the feeder doesn’t really need. It’s the way I think most of us started out 🎣👌🏻

Brilliant timing, I’m sat in bed unable to sleep. Not had the time to set mine up yet. Them 3000 reels look a great match too. Very happy with look and feel of these rods. Float rod seems a little stiff for delicate float work. I need to get out and test them myself. Pellet wetter? Get to Aldi and get the veg bags. 25p. Perfect pellet wetter 😂😂 bargain. I tend to soak my pellets overnight. Fill an air tight container with pellets to the top. Pour water in to cover the pellets. Lid on give them a shake put them in the fridge. They’ll have swollen and be wedged in the pot, but spot on for for the feeder 👍. Saves me time on the bank on my short sessions. Great session, great video, (got the fish trained for an action packed outro 😂😂😂) and a decent test for the rods too!
