Take a look at the sun sun HW 3000 much more flow, 793 gallons, bigger media storage, uv light, self priming as well, also has ajustable flow on screen, best value canister filter I've found and used ....and cheaper...

Looks good. I wonder how long it lasts before it starts leaking. I've had.an Aquatop 400 for 5 years. It just recently started leaking but easily fixed with a new gasket.

What’s your thoughts on the hygger canister filter after having it for a while. I’m debating on it due to the cost and having the uv sterilizer, but I’m also debating on just buying a fx4. I’d rather buy once and not be sorry.

I have not had to clean it out or do anything to it and the flow rate is still good. Stays on after power outages. Nothing to complain about with that product.

To small not enough media space sun sun is much better for media capasity

The most important tip should be Can I find o rings for this thing in case it fails? Trust me not all canisters are easy to find replacement parts

Our hardware store has bins with literally thousands of o rings of every size imaginable.

You shouldn't be touching the glass on a UV globe. The oils from your hand will get really hot and crack the globe.

After keeping fish since 1980,I have yet to put trust in any of the canisters.May it be leaking,stop working etc.Ive seen people buy them used,all brands ,get them free and it's always something.I have literally used Aqua clear HOB filters forever.I have 3 110s on a 125 ,3 yrs no leak,no quit no problem.

My canister filter from fluval, bought it second hand 3y ago, still going strong. Also have a oase biomaster thermo, that thing is perfect when it works but cleaning it will somehow always result in me having a wet floor... xD

The more media you put in there the less flow you're going to get

Not really true, but also… does it really matter? Biological filtration is much more important to a healthy aquarium than mechanical filtration Mechanical filtration is only for cosmetics. Biological filtration is for water quality

@uncommonaquatics it's very true. If your filter is rated for say 300gph empty, but full it's more less cut in half. Is that biological filtration doing anything if your 100 gallon tank is being turned over only once an hour?
