Testing an EXTREME SCRATCH ART Book!?!

In this SoCraftastic testing video I'm scratching AND coloring in an EXTREME SCRATCH ART book from Amazon. Half the pages are traditional adult coloring while the others can be scratched to reveal beautiful glittery mandala designs! In this Scratch and Sketch book, the colors show up like magic when you trace over them with the stylus & it's very satisfying! These Zentangle doodles are so relaxing to color & scratch! As a fellow perfectionist, I totally see how scratch art can seem overwhelming. I guess it’s about being in the moment and not worrying about rushing to finish each page. I can get too precise with colouring as well. Lots of fun being a perfectionist, huh?! 🤔😐🥰 I understand you. 😊

What happens if you scratch the black part, does anything come off? 🤔 looks like a really fun idea

Yes the black does scratch off as well, so you have to be careful to follow the lines - otherwise you'll lose some of the detail of the designs.

​@@SoCraftastic i actually like that the black scratches off too. Because I was thinking it really doesn't leave much room for creativity but if you can remove the black too then that means you can change the design. So that mean you can get creative with it.

I think coloring with marker or pencil. Crayons have never been my thing, but my mom was awesome at it!! 🥰 The white still showing up would bug me... lol!! 🤣 I like your backdrop, but I KNOW your artwork on the wall would pop so much more and be more representative of your channel. I don't know if you've thought about it, but if you have, I would encourage you to put up some of your canvas or board art!! 🌈💖

I remember learning about scratch art in school, when we would color a piece of paper with multiple colors, go over it entirely with black crayon, then use scissors to scratch off and reveal the color. But dear god, the MESS IT MAKES. I've never leaned into it as an adult.

I used to love these books! The ones I had came with wooden skewers that would always break - that stylus tool looks like it would work way better. I always liked these more than coloring books since you just need one tool and don’t have to keep switching colors. The only downside is the mess 😅💜

Here is a tip use a blusha brush to brush off what you have scratched off

It looks like a neat book… I don’t think I would personally enjoy doing it, but if I did work in one, I would probably prefer the scratching …. (Colouring is not really my thing)…. But I don’t think I’d like the messy part of it, (even though I do have a mini vacuum that I love)…. Also, creating mandalas is not really my thing, either…. But…. People make some really beautiful ones. 😊✌🏻
