Dude, I just downloaded that PDF about 30 minutes before clicking on your video. I had no idea this was being added to Blender.. Cool beans....

Thanks for testing, so I don't have to do it. I'm on a Mac and APIC feels way faster than FLIP, but I could be wrong here.

That's a sweet wallpaper you got there.

excelent comparison thanks for this.

I believe it all boils down to preference but in my opinion APIC produces more realistic behavior that you see in fluids especially water which has a distinct characteristic compared to other fluids.

NEW FLUID SIM STUFF? You already know I'm watching this. I *love* all things Mantaflow. EDIT: Ohhh, I see what this is! I saw one of the devs tweeted about this a couple days ago.

I wonder if maybe that third simulation caused problems because of the increased about of fluid-object collisions?
@MrCheebs4 жыл бұрын
That's a decent theory - I'll have to test that!

Sorry I have a problem with a simulation. I created a mesh box with effector collision and inside there is liquid but some particles come out the mesh. Why??
@MrCheebs4 жыл бұрын
Mantaflow struggles with making good collisions. I'd recommend increasing the surface thickness for your collision object, and placing an outflow object to catch leaky particles if possible. You can also sometimes get better collisions by increasing the amount of timesteps in your domain settings.

A tutorial to set APIC settings pleaseeee
@MrCheebs4 жыл бұрын
All the regular fluid settings translate between fluid calculation methods, so a settings tutorial specific to APIC really isn't necessary.

What CPU are you running in the rig, btw? I can see an RTX 2070 for the GPU, and it looks like maybe a Ryzen chip for the CPU (that's just a wild guess based on what the cooler looks like)
