Testing Ceramic Coating on my Lamborghini Chrome Vinyl Wrap

You got your car wrapped and that's protecting the car but what's protecting the wrap?
Gtechniq offered to coat Yianni's Lamborghini Aventador S, wrapped in a Chrome Turquoise Vinyl, with their new product HALO.
Gtechniq HALO Flexible Film Ceramic Coating apparently enhances the performance of Paint Protection Film (PPF) and all vehicle vinyl wraps including Chrome, Matte, Satin and Gloss finishes. So we put it to the test!
Ben from Gtechniq came to Yiannimize to show us how to apply ceramic coating to a car. The car was then put to the test after a days racing when Keran and Rio washed it and that magical water beading really did happen.
HALO enhances the performance of Paint Protection Film and vinyl. It’s a chemically bonding, ultra-dense flexible film that becomes the permanent surface of the film - protecting it from the elements a car faces on a daily basis.

They should do a side by side comparison of a wrapped car with the ceramic coating and a wrapped car without the coating. See how different the beading is, how well dirt and grime stick to it, etc.

This is what's always put me off vinyl on cars, I can imagine to keep them looking fresh you have to be super careful when you clean them to prevent it scratching. If this product can act as a clear coat on top then I think I might change my mind.

The main goal of ceramic is to prevent things from getting on the car. If you wash your car frequently then you can go touchless thanks to ceramic. Water, foam jet, filtered water, air dry or use a blower.

Try Nanoglans coating spray. No curing time. Special design for every surface. Wrap, paint, glass. Already used many premium coatings, but nothing can compete with the Nanoglans coating.

That Gtechniq installer should have told you not to wash the car for 1 week so the Coating could cure up. Too many new installers using Coatings and not understanding the Before & After process. By washing it before it cures can lead to a coating failure.

I always smile at the gimmick water test by numerous professionals straight after applying any type of ceramic coat. Yet the same test would not result with such amazement after a couple of days outside where dust can settle on the car. I have tried numerous ceramic coats and yes they add some protection but don't for one moment think all the water just slips off. In fact its the reverse as when there is dust on the car the water droplets stay on most horizontal panels long after your neighbours has vaporised away or unless you drive the car to shift it. I have never seen any professional in the valeting business state the above but amaze customers with the initial water test. Nuff said.

Guys. A tip... just use windscreen rain repellant on your paint its chemically the same as ceramic coating and will last just as long for a tenth of the price.

A decent hydrophobic sealant or wax will do the same, this isn't that groundbreaking.Really don't rate ceramic coatings IMO for the cost vs finish against a traditional sealant.

You can apply pure water on a painted are wrapped car and wipe the car off with a reyy cloth on camera and it looks 10x times better than it just did.

Kirill a good ceramic coating does prevents swirls esspecially after first wash so its not that great of a product yes it gives it absorbing water and shine bur coating is to koop your car looking great for long time

Olav Mol Agreed, but what I meant was those swirls where probably already there before the coating and the right measure to take before applying any coating is prepping the surface(correcting the paint) and only then apply the coating. But of course this is vinyl, so best bet is to heat up the vinyl and hope the scratches heal and proceed to applying the coating.
