Everytime you used the Armstrong, you were in the best position with the best leverage. I have to think that made it feel easier to break that lug loose.

Armstrong is an industrial standard tool company so they are built to keep American companies in business. Not the story with Apex Tools as they shut down Armstrong and Allen to save a dime. Apex will warranty out the Armstrong for a Gearwrench, but it won't be near the wrench (or any tool for that matter) that the Armstrong was.
@mdlee526 жыл бұрын
I guess something is better than nothing. That wrench is a tank, and I think it will stand the test of time.

BS Gearwrench is just as nice as armstrong.

Johnny G not if they are made in Taiwan or china. Armstrong was always an industrial tool brand that was made in USA. I'd love to watch a death match between the Armstrong and Gearwrench adjustable wrenches.
@NaztyNapkinz6 жыл бұрын
Armstrong is Apex, Gearwrench is apex. Both have the same specs.
@snap-off53836 жыл бұрын
@@NaztyNapkinz Armstrong was made by Armstrong. Gearwrench doesn't make anything, they rebrand made in china and made in taiwan tools that other companies also sell under their names, Some are very good, (Taiwan) some are very poor (China).

I'm almost positive that the Armstrong Wrench has a W. F near the end of the handle. Western Forge ( used to make tools for Craftsman) is the last American tool company that makes adjustable wrenches in the USA.

..Yes, I buy most my tools off Ebay anyways...I sell on Ebay, also, (various used stuff) and save the money in my Paypal account to buy stuff/ tools I covet..er.., I mean "need" ;). That way I don't use money out of my regular budget/money; I don't like using debit/credit cards to make online purchases, anyway. I don't use Amazon, as they don't take Paypal, and they only have new stuff(I often buy expensive tools used). I don't sell on Amazon, either, as they don't let you sell used items, and they are even worse than Ebay on stiffing you on fees and restrictions. Sometimes Facebook Marketplace is a good place to buy used tools....@@mdlee52

4:59 “Tekton at 150 pounds”.!? Wow that thing is hefty, I’m not throwing that in my 🧰 it’s going to kill the drawer slides. 5:50 “200 Pound feet”.!? Damn those are some heavy feet. 8:45 “200 Foot pounds”.!? Not too bad. How much horsepower? It’s ____ pounds foot. _____ Pounds at 1 FOOT away from the center of the fastener. Can you guess how much force is put on a fastener, if 200 pounds is put on the handle of a ratchet 24 inches away from the center of that fastener?

I believe Fastenal is an Armstrong dealer for those that do not want to go through fleabay
@HardKnocksForge6 жыл бұрын
I checked Fastenal's website and they only have 4 wrenches that are Armstrong and none of them are adjustable. Apex really screwed everyone over when they shut down the Armstrong and Allen plants. I've dealt with Cripe when they had a website and they have always been good at getting me my tools. I think they just run the fleabay store to make combining shipping easier. Shipping costs was always a pain in the ass with Cripe. I think they are trying to change that by just doing the ebay store only and not having a separate website.

Cool you were able to get that comparison video done before the truck owner came back to his truck to shoo you off! I have a bunch of Crescent USA nutrounders, don't think I've paid for a single one. A refrigerator repair man left one at our house and 15 mins later when I called him he said "keep it". the rubber end was a little messed up so i cut it off, and regretted it, because the "Crescent USA" was on the rubber, but NOT stamped on the tool so now it looks like a generic made in china one. Should have just xacto knifed the bad part off instead of the whole grip. Why is stamping going the way of the dodo?
