It really blows my mind how routine SpaceX has made the stacking/de-stacking procedure. The fact that they do it indoors and outside, at night and during the day, in both wet and dry weather makes it look as easy as a child stacking wooden blocks. 😊

8:30 That is a DJI Matrice 30T drone - and yes, John, those flights are actually entirely programmable from start to finish! I use drones for work (inspections, search and rescue, mapping, etc) and you can pre-program those flight paths and image capture locations with centimeter-level accuracy (when using RTK - think of that is GPS on steroids). The operator there was clearly manually flying, but it is already standard practice for several industries to entirely automate drone flights - and dump pictures and videos into predetermined folders, and AI classify and spot check images. It is super cool, and I don't doubt SpaceX will (if they don't already) incorporate that into their workflow in the future. Check out the DJI Dock 2 for a good idea of some of the automated autonomous (and remote) systems already on the market. Cheers!

When they figure out exactly what shape and location to mount the forward flaps so as to repeatedly survive reentry with the smallest amount of reconditioning required to fly again, then that of course will be the perfect "look" for a Starship forward flap...
@MrGoesBoom13 күн бұрын
Seeing how the 'catch pins' work will be neat, though I do wonder how the performance as just something stuck on as opposed to something that's actually structural will vary. Also kinda curious if they did any reinforcement of the area(s) of the ship that were visibily creasing from stress during the last Starship flight. I mean sure that flight they said they were deliberately going for a landing that would stress things as much as possible to see what would happen, but those were some seriously bad creases, would make sense to do something in that area even for low stress landinges, IMO.

Perhaps they went up and down with the drone on purpose. There are tight angles, that you might have to get an above view, then a below view. Sped up of course so it may look like wobblyness, when it is actually intended?

In organic chemistry, "carbon rings" refer to a cyclic structure where carbon atoms are bonded together to form a closed ring, creating a molecule known as a cycloalkane; these rings are a common feature in many organic compounds and are named with the prefix "cyclo-" followed by the number of carbons in the ring, like cyclohexane (a six-carbon ring). In organic chemistry, caffeine contains two fused carbon rings, forming a structure called a purine ring, which is composed of a six-membered pyrimidine ring and a five-membered imidazole ring, both containing nitrogen atoms, making caffeine a heterocyclic compound; essentially, the carbon rings in caffeine are part of a larger ring system with nitrogen atoms incorporated within them.
