The myth of suit buoyancy refuses to die. Short course is mostly under water where buoyancy is a disadvantage. Fast suits are all about compression and reducing drag, not increasing buoyancy. Totally agree with maximizing coverage.

This is what we do everyday in practice. Technical efficiency is king in practice. Need the athletes to figure out ways to reduce drag / increase propulsion

Does NCAA not have a flat wall? What was he talking about with the pad on backstroke?

NCAA pads sit underwater and on top of a gutter so swimmers can grab the wall on their open turns, at the olympics the pads go higher and swimmers cannot grab the wall
