TESTING DIFFERENT PEEL OFF BASE COATS FOR GEL | Holo Taco, UNT, Madam Glam

Peel off gel base (ones you have to cure, like mg, jello jello, hoholee 1day) are meant to go on your natural nails. They do work very well for that. Depending on your prep and nail type they can last for over a week, with easy removal that you don't have to acetone soak or file. Because they cure, they adhere to gel so you can't use them on top of builder gel (or any product) effectively. Water-based/air dry peel off base (unt, ht, etc) will peel off anything, as you have discovered haha.

Agree 100% with the above. I personally much prefer JelloJello to MG, I find that when I do glue on nails with regular nail glue they stay on longer after wiping the inhibation layer from the peel base than with MG. I also find with MG gel x pops off faster. In other words, if I want to wear my short to medium length extensions for a week, I use Jello Jello. 2 or 3 days, MG. I also like UNT for use over hard gel but my go to is actually a brand called ASP available at Sally Beauty. THAT is the one is use most over hard gel or under regular nail polish. I can get a full week to even 10 days wears with that one.

I just started using gel polish and last night I used the M Glam peel off based coat. Today, I cleaned the fridge, scrub the bathroom and tub. Cooked dinner and washed a ton of dishes. Afterwards on my left ring finger i felt the polish lift and it just came off. The nail was fine with no damage. My right hand nails are just fine even with the amount of water my hands were in.

GREAT REVIEW! I had the Bellavena gel peel base and it was the SAME! I had to file off!!!! I use UNT and love it! I’ve never tried Halo Taco❣️

Thanks for letting me know, i read the reviews and everyone seemed to love the MG one so I think it’s more like a soak off base vs a peel off if that makes sense

@@dianehedricks7860Apparently (this is coming from another comment on this vid) any peel off bases that you have to cure need to be on natural nails as they will adhere to gel (builder, base, poly)

I was a big UNT fan, but it started getting harder to buy and pricey too. I tried HT and I like the way it peels/pops off but it takes so long to dry for me. UNT would always dry in about 3 minutes, HT takes a solid 10 minutes. That’s my only drawback

Oh really I found my HT and UNT dried in about the same amount of time. I’m not putting on super thick coats. I’ve done 2 on a recent tutorial I filmed with UNT and it was perfect to hold the hard gel until I wanted them off 😂😂

@@vanessasnailsyt my HT was a really thick formula, I don’t know if I maybe got a bad batch then? I never really compared or talked to others to see how theirs was. Maybe I’ll give it another go

@@xLexiMarie oh really? Yeah mine was / is a normal thickness and not goopy at all. I make sure to close them really quickly after use. If it came that way though not much you can do about it except contact the company :( which i'm sure is too late now! I'm sorry!!

Jello Jello has a solvent that dissolves the base. I've never had JJ peel off by itself. ever. if i don't use the One Kill remover it'll stay on as long as a regular gel base coat does. ps. i still prefer using a drill to take off my nails cz the pushing and pulling of wiggling and lifting the base coat is still traumatizing to my nail beds cz I prep really well. I always have a gel overlay so majority of the time i just take the nail art off and that rarely takes long. have you tried not taking yoyr nails off completely every time? if it's feasible for you, I highly recommend it. cheers

I used a 99p/$1 LEMOOC liquid latex as a peel off base coat, it worked, but polish just peeled off lol! LEMOOC liquid latex works as a nail polish remover, it softens thick nail polish. Add couple coats, Tough nail polish just GENTLY scrapes OFF! GOT Victoria Vynn peel off and MUA Peel off, have to do for now. Also layer with CND SHELLAC basecoat! UK 🌹🎄💋🇬🇧🌹🎄

Reddit forums say peel off basecoat and normal basecoats can be layered, tried the layers, it worked, nail polish stayed on 2 days! Then my nail polish soaked off in the shower lol! First Zoya Anchor basecoat, dry, layer MUA Peel off basecoat ( cheapo UK brand), dry, then 2nd coat Zoya, then thin 3 coats nail polish MUA dark blue, then dry, then 3 coats of Collection 2000 Solar topcoat, cheap hoodie topcoat. Pity all these fancy polishes still chip off! UK 🇬🇧😍😱🌹🇬🇧

I tried the Victoria Vynn gel peel off basecoat, it soaked off after 1 day of showering, washing dishes and cost £7/$8, waste of cash Vynn and too thick! Then tried MUA peel off nail polish basecoat, it's thin but soaks off after 1 shower! Any recommendations for a good peel off basecoat! HT, UHT, etc are £17/$18 over here, bit expensive for a 8-15ml tiny bottle! Will try the cheapo Amazon brands first! UK 🇬🇧 13 8.24

Ease of removal is nice and all big is really be interested to get a review on the longevity. I’ve only ever have luck with peel off bases staying 1week + if they require a cure

I would say this dry version of a peel off base is good for content not really good for longevity. I did have good luck with the jello jello one (requires a cure)

So wish I would have found this video before I bought the Madam Glam one. I love their products generally but I have a builder gel overlay, so that product won't work. I am glad I found this video before I used it.

Yes the MG one wont work over a builder gel because it could take off the gel / be impossible to get off
