Testing gas Torch/Soldering Iron/Review of Dremel Versaflame butane torch/compact size/GREAT QUALITY

Hi,
This is unboxing and testing of butane gas Torch which is used for soldering or any sort of modelling plastics or pipes, used as well as a lighter if needed.
This is Dremel VersaFlame model.
Found out it is very compact and useful tool.

hello, thank you for the video! Does this melt brass? On the tech specs it says (depending on country), not only soldering but also brazing and I found also welding written there. I don't believe it can weld but can it braze brass? I am trying to find this info for ages without success. Even their Customer support hasn't replied. I have several torches claiming all sorts of temperatures but I could never do brass inlay into steel with anything other than oxyacetylene, so if this little thing can do it, it would be a gamechanger for me. If you know, or can find out, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi, Would need to try it, it has good and sharp flame but it's still butane powered so I am not sure is it able to have flame temperature as oxyacetylene. When I get chance I will get brass stick and try to braze. Hopefully it works Thanks for watching

@@out_of_service5844 hello, thank you for your reply. If you'll gety around to try it I would appreciate it a lot. To tell the truth I also don't think it can make it. It's supposed to be 1200C and melting point of brass is 940C but still you need to get the steel reasonably hot too for this to work. Well, let's see. Thanks again

Is it flame wind resistant ?

Hi, as you can see when it's on sharp flame when I'm moving the torch flame is steady, so I believe it is the same on wind. Could do some test in future. Thanks for comment

@@out_of_service5844 would be nice if you test this torch outside on strong wind cuz i spend lots of time on the boat where can be pretty windy and i sometimes need good stable flame but its impossible with normal ligher

​​​@@jd4410this is the lighter for you! Except it will blow the bud out of the bowl or the end off a joint if you are careless. Edit: if it is work you are doing out there, and not passing time, it will still be a VERY GOOD CHOICE!

Versaflame torch is too hot for your demo. You should have used Versatip iron instead for electronic soldering.
