Grace is the antithesis of Gordon Ramsey in character (or at least his public persona the majority of the time) AND YET this is the crossover I never knew I needed 😂🥰
@HelenBeeee2 жыл бұрын
Dont be fooled GR is lovely in person. He was shooting a TV series near where I live and came into the local farm cafe to have lunch. I was there having lunch at the time. All I could think of was how harrowing it must have been for the kitchen to cook for him. But he was wonderful he went and met them and told them how delicious it was and how he had enjoyed it he took fotos with them just an all-round selfless person. He impressed me with his gracious down to earth nature.

@@HelenBeeee He also judged a kids’ cooking show on TV ( like a Junior version of Hell’s Kitchen) and he was really encouraging and kind to them when they made a mistake/things didn’t go to plan/they didn’t know how to do something. Everything I have heard and seen of him makes me think he is a great dad and husband.

A way to potentially help you cut the pork, is to flip it upside down so the hardened back is on the board. This would allow you to cut through the softer side first then chop through the back with minimal breakage.

You should look at getting one of those thermometers that you put inside the oven to measure it’s actual temperature- very helpful with temperamental ovens :)

Thoroughly enjoyed that. The last time I made GR's beef wellington tho, it also had a layer of crepe before it went into the pastry. One of the best brands of knives to buy (Gordon & top chefs use them too), other than proper Japanese ones is Zwilling J.A. Henckels...pricey but last forever or also look at Flint and Flame (my husband uses these in his professional kitchen).

Grace, I would love to see you try to make Filipino rolled lechon (roasted pork). You would need a roasting pan though and lots of lemon grass (dried or fresh, but fresh are hard to find here in NY). I’ve never tried beef Wellington before, my sister says it’s one of her favorites after having some at her boyfriend’s house. Might have to try making some for a special occasion.😅💖

Gordon uses Henkel/Zwilling knives, which is a solid German brand. Not too expensive compared to the quality. I have the "5-star" chef's knife myself as well as a medium chef's knife and they feel balanced in the hand and cut well. If you upgrade your knives, it's probably also around that threshold where you can start thinking about getting a whetstone to sharpen it better and less abrasively. And use the honing steel more often to keep the edge aligned too.

Ooooh Grace, you got a new pan for Christmas? I got that same one for my hubby for Christmas, too. It's an 'Our Place' pan and we got the sage color. Unfortunately, ours had a crack in the handle so we had to send it back to get it exchanged. (No issues though, they immediately told me to exchange it, no questions asked) Can't wait to get the new one in the mail so we can use it. Hope you like it. Looks like it worked great! Hubby is looking forward to using it too!

First of all: you're by far the only person I'd even watch videos in which they're preparing meat in as I am a vegan/ vegetarian and can't really relate to these videos. I still watch all of your videos because I like you as a person and enjoy them so much. But I think I'm speaking for many of your viewers, that I have found your channel through your "testing out ..." videos, especially videos like going vegan for a week etc. I know, it's your channel and of course you get to decide what you/ eat/ cook/ upload, but I personally would enjoy more vegan or vegetarian recipes on your channel and I think many of your vegan/ vegetarian viewers would do so too. Love from Germany!
