Howdy Tony, yeah im not a huge fan of penny stoves either. Ive made dozens over the years just because they are so simple. At this point i just stick to a trangia with a triangle(or other pot stand) so I can store the alcohol in the stove, control the burn and easy to put it out. Every penny stove I've made I used a bit of cage wire or hardware cloth for a pot stand. They seem to do best at right about 1 inch above the holes about the same as a trangia. Great vid.

Morning TONY !!! Grandpa always said Fumes will stay burning longer for you !!! Plus the one with the penny the penny was getting the heat from the burner !!! That penny would be hotter than Heck for you to touch !!! Glad you did this video !!!
