Using these expensive testers is the quickest and most economical way to test gems.

Can I ask you a question please, what does it mean if when I turn on my presidium, the red light is on, but when I touch a gem with the probe tip, the needle wont move? Does that mean I didn't calibrate it correctly? Or???

I’ve been really liking this machine but the calibration is very complicated. I’ve been thinking about doing a video because it’s so weird. I’ll explain from memory how I calibrated. First I turn on the machine and the red light is blinking. After a minute warms up to the temperature in the room and stops blinking. Here’s the weird part. Now there’s a hidden button behind a rubber cover and there’s two of them. I need to take a paper clip and push the button. Then the machine will let you calibrate. First blue light turns on and you put the probe on the calibration pad. Then a green light turns on to calibrate for glass. Then you have to do two more calibrations, and finally you can test your gemstone. So unfortunate that it is this difficult to calibrate. Once calibrated I really like the machine. I hope this helps👍

The best way to determine what a stone is would be studying geology, learning stones names, colors, hardness, specific density, time, knowledge. A machine does not see color, test for density, or have memory. Ive been studing most of my life. Still learning new things. A machine has not taught me about gems

Not true really. There are so many different crystals of the same colour that are easy to mis-identify, and if you need to sell any you could lose a lot of money by guesswork. I have also been in the crystal world a long time - not that it matters - but I don't care how long you look at crystals, mistakes are going to be made. Guaranteed. I've never heard of this device before, and it seems ok at first glance.

What if you have poor vision and colorblindness. This could really help when purchasing jewelry. Kinda judgy.

If you are colorblind, or having any cognitive difficulties I recommend getting a certified gemologists before purchasing any stones.

What about lab grown stones ? They are chemical composition supposed to be the same as real ? Isn't this machine kinda misleading in that sense?
@livefree6878Ай бұрын
You are correct, this machine will only get you close to a possible identification of a stone. The machine cannot tell the difference between a lab grown diamond and a real one. You would have to look for inclusions to see if it’s a real diamond. I believe they make machines that can tell the difference between real diamonds and lab grown. Hope this answer helps.👍

This is the worst gem tester on the market ever! All you have to do is to make a wild guess. When are they going to create a product that's 100% accurate?
