Testing JER Axle Braces On LMT! Will My Axles Survive?!

My poor test vehicles. I'm not very nice to them most of the time and this is more of the same. Back after backflip trying to do moonwalks and just seeing if we get a weird landing that will snap an axle with these axle braces on. I do not consider this to be a "normal" run for most people. This is me being hard on the drivetrain and axles as I continue to test this truck.
JER sent me some of his 3d printed Axle braces to test out. I've shared with him what happened during this video so he can continue to improve on the products he's making.

I just got my roller out for a light first run cause body isn't done and I had alot of fun driving it! I put a little bigger motor in it and seems perfect. Can't wait to finish my body and go harder on it!

You need to buy a roller so you can smooth the jump faces & tractor tire imprints. Good vid.

I can do it with the blade on the bucket. This job was done in a rush before rainfall. Because it was wet, I couldn't do any more work. I have been working on smoothing it more now.

Tony you need your 2 buddies to test the axles, you're getting a little to good with the lmt lol. If it survives one pack with them test done! Love the course so far!!! I'm building a backflip ramp now!

@@CCxRC Hey Tony do you think a aftermarket company like rpm might make full plastic axle housings like stock out of a better, stronger plastic? Im really hoping for that. These housing made out of rpm composite plastic would be great

@@cwatson42785 going on brotherman 👋 i was hoping the same but than I thought about it , how come they never made us stuff like that in the past , either its a patten thing . Or possibly its too costly for new molds . I'm kinda person if I spend 400 on axles I be less inclined to bash that hard , id rather have one I beat up another to upgrade and look pretty uk .

@@cwatson42785 I like the truck alot its perfect for bashing around the house , hopefully I get new axles tomorrow, mine broke like glass ,the braces wouldn't of helped, my fault in fairness I left the lmt in my truck 35 degrees . The whole back cracked in half. , even rpm dosen't maybe other companies besides treal , need 2 Lmts one drive like Tony here ,one to soup up .

Nice bash test Tony..what are those made from I think they need to be the nylon 3D printed material to be any strong like the stuff Ampro uses for his parts.

I think they are PLA, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll have to ask. I don't know that the tabs are even necessary. IT seems to snug up pretty tight and limit flex.

I can't wait to see how the treal axles do. Question for you, how much run time are you getting out of 2s or 3s batteries? Also what charge rate are you charging your spektrum batteries? I have the s2100, 2 2s 50c and 1 3s 100c

I'm getting about 12-15 minutes of run time depending how hard I drive. Sometimes a little longer. I usually charge my batteries at 7.5 amps. That's a little over 1c. They can do more, but I don't usually need them in a hurry

You’ll want to get the freestyle ones, they seem to hold up much better and give more rigidity to the axle housing

I like that the Freestyle ones tie the two sides of the axle together to add maximum stiffness. These did keep the axles from breaking though...so that is helpful.

I knew that grill would be brittle. I see you've already taken yours out. It just looks so good. Thats why I just stick with my bashers, if you kill the body no big deal , cheap fix. These nice monster truck body are like $60 and up ,up, up.

I don't think I'm gonna use mine for hardcore bashing. I have plenty of other rigs for that. I do want to make mine 4ws and just use it on trails or climb with it.

Where did you get them ramps ?

I made them. Pics on Facebook. It's a 1x8' lower board with a 1x6' upper with a 2x4 top. Then I cut out thin underlayment plywood for the sides and jump on the backside.

I like that the wrap around brace connects the both side of the diff to add stiffness

In my experience with 3d printing the strength is not there do to the process of layering 👍

Best bet is to just pre-order them. They are making them quickly.
