Great video brother. You actually inspire my fat ass. Getting ready to buy a couple Lectrics and am looking at 3.0s and Xpremiums. I'm old school (old) and wish the Xpremium came in a stepover model. I figure as soon as I buy the step through they will come out with one! 3.0 stepover extended range looks pretty good but I think I want that mid drive motor! I'm a young strong fat 65 year old! Thanks for the kind comments...the ebikes are a great way to get back outdoors. The 3.0 is a sweet bike, lots of get up and go but you won't get as good of a workout as you would with the XPremium. I didn't like the XPremium at first because I enjoyed the quick and responsiveness of the hub drives. But 1500 miles later, I love my XPremium. It lets me keep up with roadies but makes me get my heartrate up. I will caution you, if you intend to ride fast and a lot of miles, the XPremium will require more maintenance (mostly chain and gear maintenance). Just keep that in mind when you make your decision. Lectric has fantastic customer service. The only things is basically no returns so you got to be comfortable with your decision. Happy riding!

This e bike could be used for a bikepacking trip. I always thought that on mid-drives, the motor puts out more power if you pedal harder, not the other way around. You can lose weight on an e bike, if you ride it as they were meant to be used: PEDAL ASSIST. Not like a motor scooter.

I like how he explains the pedal assist 3 modes because that is what I use to ride when using my Lectric 1.0 and 2.0, mid-drive motors are about the resistance that you put into the pedaling. Just think of a 10-speed pedal bike verse a single-drive bike it has a motor on the single-drive bike to get you up to speed. On a mid-drive, the motor actually drives the drive chain, kind of like a standard shift car versus an automatic. The hub motor is automatic when the mid-drive is a standard shift.

Agree, it is pedal assist and not pedal for you. As we talked about before, not for everyone but if you are looking to get a workout, distance, or packing, this bike could work for you.

@@tai.randomthings Whenever I see one of those cheap Costco Jetson e bikes on the street, the rider does not use the pedal at all.

This was very helpful I have Lectric 2.0 and considering the upgrade. Could your next video or one of your next videos be the same test, same format with pas5. This would help everyone understand Max speeds in class 3 mode per gear, thanks!

Yes, I am planning to do one for PAS 4 and then PAS 5. I actually typically ride in PAS 4 so I'll give you a preview. The sweet spot is 6th gear for me and it averages 23 mph.

@@tai.randomthings sounds great can't wait. I am no spring chicken and I have put 1100 miles in 4 months on my Llectric XP2.0 and love that 20 plus mile an hour speed that I get in pedal-assist for with and upgraded free will2 to a 11. But I am fascinated with the XPremium but I worry that it's just not going to be fast enough. I don't mind putting in the work I pedal the entire time on my XP2.0 in gear 7 and almost never throttle except off the line just to keep it in gear 7 which I know you can't do with this but I do want to enjoy the bike and I enjoy the speed that makes me feel like I'm 25 when I'm double that LOL

Please excuse this ignorant question, but is there a throttle only mode on this particular bike?
@tai.randomthings
@tai.randomthings Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can go throttle only but it's not as responsive as the hub drives (e.g. XP3.0)

I appologize for the confusion. In some of my videos, I will sign off with "cheers" but it usually a sip and its certainly at the end of the day as more of a celebration to the end of the video. I would not drink and ride (or drive for that matter) and certainly I did not mean to avocate drinking and then riding...again, I appologize for the confusion.
