So you forget your snare, but you remember a tambourine and a towel and a bunch of straws? Love your videos! Keep it up!
@jas_bataille Жыл бұрын
Pretty specific situation, but as a working drummer, that's not impossible. Straws are, after all, in almost every possible venue, and losing your snare - whether that's your fault or during transport somewhere with no drumshop nearby and no friend to bring you one - is definitely possible. I've heard of people losing their floor tom legs who had to use sticks... and people who lost their sticks (happened to me once believe it or not). Bottom line : *everything* is possible on the road. Believe me lol

@316bandofficial idk, I feel like even that can be worked around by hitting it with a stick, subbing with a floor tom, etc. You can't get all the parts of hihat sounds without the clutch

One of the videos my band filmed last year, we made it halfway across the state, upon setting up the kit for filming we realized the snare stand was missing. I managed to find the perfect stump in a driftwood pile. We used that as a stand for the full video, and you can't even tell. That clip of the tom snare made me think of that haha.

5:39 OMG PLEASE DO A WEIRD DRUMSTICKS VIDEO🙏🙏🙏 (If you do,) please feature springy drumsticks! What are springy drumsticks? I’m glad you asked! 1. Get a drumstick 2. Remove a section of the drumstick 3. Replace the section that was removed with a spring (in my experience springs from Nerf guns work best) 4. Glue the spring in place 5. Now you have a remarkably useless (but highly entertaining) springy drumstick! (This is just as ridiculous as it sounds, it’s meant to be nonsensical and fun) Love your vids!

3 days ago I did/made thr emad snare head hack. And today this video pops up. Lol. That DIY emad snare head is a keeper and a game changer, I've made 2 now the 2nd one I made the hole a bit bigger and I like the wider head version it let's the foam pad work a bit better and you get a better sound over all. But yeah, this hack should be in every drummers arsenal

The Lego base plate guiro works better if it's securely glued to the top of a Jam Block, preferably with something that actually welds the plastics together. And you can still use the jam block as intended, although it won't ring quite as well. I saw knockoff Lego base plates at the local Dollar Tree. You don't have to sacrifice real ones.

Another tuning/muffling trick: only tune up half of your lugs. For example if you have a 22" kick with 10 lugs, only tone 5 of them but still in the star patern. You might need to tune them up twice as high and I would not recomend using this on drums with less than 8 lugs. This also works on snare drums too.

I bet if you took the Lego base, put it over the cowbell and hit it with a heat gun you would maintain the texture but get a better fit. OR....... you could drill holes and put in some rivets to get the same texture to rub your stick across.
