Weld a bung at about a 45* angle into the exhaust after the turbo and hook your pcv to that. that will help to give you negative pressure in the crankcase. Check out some pictures of it done. It’s done a lot on race cars.

This is ok on a race car but on a street car you want vacuum in your crank case on long downhill descents, otherwise you will be burning oil.
@jessiewhite49462 жыл бұрын
I'd run a tee between both pcv valves and plumb them into the fitting you welded on before the turbo
@jonathancallender81852 жыл бұрын
Heck a single one like the front was good enough for the 7.3 power stroke and the 6.0. Even though there’s not a vacuum at low throttle it still is always at or below atmosphere. You are over complicating it. Nice work love the truck👍

The pvc is intake manifold vacuum operated , the other grommet is for filtered air to be drawn in by the pvc valve. So vacuum from intake to pvc valve and a hose and filter on the other grommet. The pvc sucks fresh filtered air through this hose into engine ,where it picks up blow by and other crankcase vapors and into intake manifold and burned in combustion chambers. The pvc goes at rear valve cover grommet and fresh filtered air hose at front . On newer valve cover fresh air hose has its own grommet just behind oil fill. The older style is attached through grommet in oil fill cap.do not run engine with pvc valve and no filterd inlet hose ,dirt will be drawn into engine and ruin it.

I had 93 F150 2wd regular cab 300, Mazda 5 speed and 2.73 rear axle ratio, then a 1994 F250HD 2wd 300, ZF heavy duty 5 speed and 4.10 rear axle ratio. I parked the 1993 after I got a 2004 Ranger in 2007. Drove the F250HD again in 2010 while I went through the brakes, ball joint’s, steering rack on the Ranger from lots of pizza delivery. Sadly I sold the F250HD around 2013 after I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme. I cut up and parted out the 1993 F150 after that. I wish I had the F250HD back. The ZF heavy duty 5 speed is really nice to have with the super low 1st and reverse gears.

On my blow through dodge 318 dip stick I put a valve seal on the tube and it seals when it's in place and my pcv hose goes to the inlet of the turbo ya it gets a little oily on the intake side until it goes through the carb then its reduced down by the fuel to almost not noticeable at all most factory turbo cars do this
@davidtyce22692 жыл бұрын
I have since swapped to blow through easier to tune with a large turbo
@jordanwaughtal76492 жыл бұрын
I think one of the bmw turbo sixs had a pcv system where it pulled vacuum on the crankcase relative to the atmosphere and had an oil recycling system similar to a catch can, but it drained back into the sump.
@LynxStarAuto2 жыл бұрын
I know it's not what any performance chaser wants to hear, but maybe dial back the boost some to help fight that blow by? The 4.9 is relentless, but they always had blow by issues.

I think that blow by normal because my 300 has the same and when I open the engine and the engine was rebuild
@Petrol3602 жыл бұрын
My 300 probably has about 250k and has a lot of blow by as well. I was thinking about adding a vent to the lifter cover to help remove some pressure lower in the motor along with the valve cover.

Hey man, threefold question for you- 1, how much boost are you running? 2, are you on E85 or pump gas, and 3, what octane would you recommend for 8 PSI max boost on 8:1 static compression on a 300?
@WastedPaycheckGarage2 жыл бұрын
8psi, 93 pump gas, I’m not sure what my comp. ratio is because the head has been surfaced but I haven’t had any detonation issues on 93

@@WastedPaycheckGarage Awesome, thanks. Got one i'd like to boost one of these days and hadnt found that info anywhere. You got a sharp rig there!
@wildrosegarage42082 жыл бұрын
I got a idea for you that will work much better than what you have going on in my opinion. Get a electric vacuume pump off a 80s-90s Gm car. They used them for power brakes. Run a house off a baffled breather through a catch can then to the vacuume pump inlet, then from the vacuume pump outlet run a hose to air intake/turbo inlet and you will be good to go. You can leave a breather on the hole of the valve cover to draw air in so you have air flow through the motor. If your pvc was under manifold vacuume in the video of it running it should be sucking enough to be drawing air in your rear breather so I hate to tell you this but that motor has a ton of blowby. I have played with my share of 300s and I like them. You have yourself a awesome truck there and wish you all the best with it.
@makinbac0n2 жыл бұрын
The PCV system is supposed to keep a slight negative pressure in the crankcase and burn blowby through combustion. Get an auxiliary vacuum pump and problem solved.

Probably the best thing you could do for the pcv is to get a vacuum pump off a diesel and put it into the accessory drive. Plumb it into your rear breather. If you decide to switch to the serpentine belt from the EFI engines you could put it in place of the smog pump.
