Testing my new Nova Bion 2 Tandem in Lac d'Annecy

New tandem so testing this baby out at Lac d'Annecy in France! What a place for paragliding.

Wow. What a great looking tandem wing! I’m looking to buy a new (tandem) wing And I’m surprised it’s a three liner! How does the speed feel with those trims opened up? Look like a great wing for launching AND landing, the two hardest parts when flying a tandem wing, as several of our fly sites here only have too landings, so it looks like a clean stable wing to land much easier, as you launched it like a speed wing! It went straight up no hassles! What are your thoughts on the wing? Any advice from another pilot would be greatly appreciated 👍🏻 Cheers, Jay.

Hi Jay, The wing launches easy en landing is great. Speed in the air is great also. With the trim closed it set ups easy. Mostly i use the neutral on the trim. See the nova website. On the neutral it is faster then a solo wing in the air. Depends of the conditions in the air of course ;) Thermaling is going very well as you probaly see in the video. One of the days in Annecy the solo pilots has some problems with the tubulent air. But on the Bion 2 no problems with it. The steering is a bit heavier then a solo wing but I have no problems with that. Spirals are nice and easy to get in and out, wingovers are big fun with this wing.

Youri Streefkerk thank you for your honest reply 👍🏻 I’m currently flying a BGD Duo but it has some hours on it and I’m a little prejudice when it comes to Bruce’s wings. I have flown them from day dot as they have taken me from the Epic, to the Base, to the Cure, but I will fly the fabric off my Base, I absolutely love it, and I got a good deal on a Duo but thought its time after ten years to potential look at other wings on the market haha I’ll definitely check out the website, but it’s always better to hear what the pilot feels from their personal experience in my opinion. A website can tell you all day long how great their wings are, but it’s always nice to hear what other pilots feel in regards to their wings... Blue skies and happy flying my friend 👍🏻

Youri Streefkerk and you’re absolutely correct in what you say. Your launch looks super easy and hassle free, nice glide rate once flying, looks like a real joy to fly ☺️

@@patrickswayze2596 A een BGD fan ;) I have flown the Base aswell for a year or so. The epic also on the winch from the paragliding school. Nice wings. Then I was getting a bit to heavy for it and bought the Rush 5. I have also flown several time the Magnum 3 from Ozone. I like the handling in the air. turn easily. A bit heavier then a solo wing, setting up and landing of this wing is great. We use it for commercial tandem for towing in holland. So keep this wing as an option aswell ;)
