Yes! They sound killer. A bit more chirpy, open, clearer than your previous 335 clips. Just the right bite. Middle position is great, neck has that balance of hollow and glass. This set has been on the cards for my SG for a while now. Thanks for the clip!

these pickups kick ass man. super articulate and bright. snappy yet still round and full. the playing was spot on as usual buddy. thanks for posting this. it must have been a total pain in the ass routing the pots through the F-holes to get everything soldered but it's sounding like it was worth it in the end.this guy makes a great pickup.

Sounds really good!! Differences with Stephens Design pickups?
@brettbrandstatt85895 жыл бұрын
Absolutely killer. What model JTM45 are you using? Handwired? PCB? Any mods? Lastly, what speakers are you using? Quite possibly the best tone out of any 335 on KZbin.

It sounds more like Peter Green's tone without all the Reverb he used.

How do you compare these to Stephens design?

Walter R. This one it’s a replica to a 1964 gibson paf the Stephens are a original paf replica (1957) both are amazing

This tone confuses me, i had these same pickups, i tried them in 4 different custom shop gibsons, played them through a jtm45, same speakers, not trying to toot my own horn, but i played exactly the same kind of stuff this guys is playing to the same level, maybe better...(just don't get mad, what im saying is accurate, im looking for help.), and the tone was literally %1000 different from this, not even close, millions of miles away from it. Neck pickup very muddy, bridge way bright and scooped, not midrangey like this. Also everything else was perfect, pots and caps, period correct, wiring perfect, nos braided wire, vintage style cable, amp has mustard caps, nos tubes, and metro transformers, everything was exactly correct.....and it was absolutely nothing like this tone, I tried 2 different sets too, in all four guitars....

Can you post your video so we can hear the difference for reference, that would be most helpful! Thanks :)

@@edgoforth9546 Take with a grain of salt. He's not even remotely on the same level as the guy in the video. I checked out the channel.
