As an Spaniard I'm impressed with your Spanissh pronunciation. Before duolingo (because at Duolingo they use Latin America pronunciation) when you were talking Spanish for a moment you were from spain for me 😂😂
@Chrisgarciam6 ай бұрын
Later, but this actually has sort of an easy explanation, in a lot of Spanish courses in the U.S. they tend to teach español peninsular over a Latin American variation, specially in a college setting since for some reason it's perceived as more formal. It also depends on the particular case of the person giving said class, most Spanish native speakers that teach the language in the US are from Latin America or their parents are, so they will teach it in a more americanized dialect (con seseo y sin "vosotros"), the ones that teach it but are not natives probably learned it later on when attending college and they will consequently teach it having the Spain dialect as a baseline. Brittany probably learned Spanish more intensively when she was in college, hence her accent being close to that of a Spaniard.

Hi, my first language is Spanish and I speak fluently English and live in La. I also would’ve translated the sentences as you did ! I was really impressed on how your think in Spanish. It’s a very intricate way, you know already a lot and it’s intensive Spanish. I think the app or website where you’re learning from asks you for a more natural translation rather than a literal one. But I also like to translate very literal because to me if I don’t it’s another whole different sentence just like I saw they were correcting you for in the sentences. Also you right , there’s many ways to translate it . Good job tho.

Voy a decir que eres bilingüe. Pero hay diferentes niveles del bilingüismo que, según los estándares internacionales del lenguaje, oscilan entre A1-C2. Yo he hablado español TODA MI VISA pero no soy capaz de hablar de las cosas más complejas que se encuentra en nivel C2 porque no soy filósofo 😂. Basically people think that you are supposed to know how to say EVERY SINGLE WORD in a language just because you say you’re bilingual and that’s not how language works. I’m impressed…and I actually really like your Spanish accent.

You did really well, Brittany. I would not have gotten anywhere near as far as you did in Duolingo. I took 5 years of Spanish through high school and college but since I haven't practiced in years, I'm also very rusty. Thanks for the free laughs and entertainment.
