The exhaust pipe you were wondering about is a real one. It is vintage and kind of rare. I have seen it on a few vintage nitro on road drifters 😊

I get rid of all Ni-CD batteries, that way I don't have to check type when charging. Just throw it on NI-MH and be happy.

with lipo there is a much better correlation between voltage and capacity and when they die, you know it because they go all puffy :D

I recover NIMH batts at 0.50 amps and they will take all day to charge but most will recover nicely the electronic chargers hold down the voltage and build capacity, the same goes for your glow starters charge them at 0.50 amps and they will usually recover nicely. if I charge a 1200mah NIMH glow starter at 1.2 amps or 1C it wont hold a charge for very long even a brand new one but if I charge it at 0.50 amps itll last all day long. Fast charging was only ever really any good for high capacity 3000 + mah NIMH packs for getting an electric car back on the track but not really for smaller capacity batteries used to run an RX or glow starter. Most of the fast charging is lost in heat production. Fast charges force up the voltage but reduce capacity what you really need is a slow trickle charge to recover old batteries. have a look at the actual output of one of those wall chargers that comes with a glow starter the output will be very low and for good reason it is much better for your batteries to slow charge them they will last a lot longer and retain their capacity.

Thats to much to recover old Nimh batts do a discharge cycle at 1 amp and a charge cycle at 0.50 amps and they will more than likely recover. its bloody slow but they come back, Ive been out of the R/C scene for nearly 10 years and Ive had RX packs in the draw half charged all that time 10 packs and they have all recovered to 98 or 99% of capacity and they last all day in use. in R/C yachts and my R/C cars.

That S3305 servo only 6v yes metal gears but slow af Torque: 4.8V: 99.00 oz-in (7.13 kg-cm) 6.0V: 124.00 oz-in (8.93 kg-cm) Speed: 4.8V: 0.25 sec/60° 6.0V: 0.20 sec/60°

check battery drop off value how we test batterys at my garage were i work ... put red wire of the multimeter to the negative and the black wire to a earth point to see how much is flowing out as a drop off
