Man that's a cool bike! I always love trying out new forms of human powered transportation. Recently I found out about inline speed skating which I want to try next. They have marathon events in Germany which looks super interesting. Not quite certain you'd want to carry all your gear on your back though. Anyway can't wait to see more of your vids, super surprised you don't have millions of followers already! Have a great ride!

If I learn to reply within three weeks I might get more followers! Inline skating would be a fast way to travel for sure, but carrying gear is the sticking point. Maybe could be pushed in a chariot?

You going to love the recumbent,or just a " bent" if you being hip. I ave a German made Toxy TT bent and love it to bits. The ability to covermile after mile at a relatively high speed is a joy. My only modification was a front Dino hub to provide enough power for lights but also can charge phone, handy when listening to music,filming or using as a gps.

I can't wait for this trip! Maybe one day I'll be cool enough to call the bike a 'bent' but I'd be really keen to know why you think the current mudguards and racks don't fit the bill? Will be sure to do a prep film before the trip begins

Dave Cornthwaite hi there,I found my close proximity to the spray in the rain just threw mud and water all over me. I fitted mud guards that totally enclosed the wheels on the top and sides . The luggage really needs to be as low down as possible to avoid the wobbles. A front rack requires a fair bit of engineering to get right but the luggage can double up as a wing shield and sort of aerodynamic spoiler to reduce rider fatigue. Wishing you the best with your adventure and looking forward to following it.

@@andrewwilson8317 Fingers crossed the USA summer won't throw up much rain for me to deal with. Thanks for the advice, two weeks to go until this begins!

With such comfortable seat and position you'll be able to cover 300km a day. I sometimes do 200km on my road upright bike. Lucky you! 👍😉🚲

Wow thats impressive. Im looking around at various options myself for a planned USA East to West trip, possible Koga Signature with Rohloff, possible Bosche Drive, or maybe recumbent. at least I have 10 years of planning LOL as there are soo many choices

What would be the real difference between the Azub Ibex and Max? Beside the rear fork/suspension they look the same However Ibex about $400,- cheaper (maybe even more lightweight)

Should you pick those wheels before 26/20 for long trip?
@andrewwilson83175 жыл бұрын
You going to need a lot of touring upgrades,mud guards,luggage racking,lighting etc. Getting the bike prepped and ready will make interesting footage. I had fitted clip on pedals but switched to simple toe clips as can't really do the pull as well as push pedal stroke on the hills. If money was no object I would love to go triple xtr on front and a beautiful Rolhof gearhub on the rear.

looks like the handle bar is too close to the chest, my feeling is it would be more comfortable if you could stretch your arms a bit more?
