I tested out my HCG trigger shot with multiple pregnancy tests after going through my first round of fertility treatments with a PCOS diagnosis.

Here is the trigger progression of my first hybrid cycle of a Femara and Gonal-F from 1/1/2018. Starting on 10 DPO you can see the positive pregnancy progression. This cycle included Progesterone, 7.5mg Letrozole/Femara CD3-5, Gonal-F 25 IU, and a HCG trigger.

Hi ! Hope u doing well. Just to find out had my wifes test done and i am so glade to inform u the the results are showing 2319.82 now i am kind of a bit puzzle. This was our second round of femera we had taken when she had her periods on 1st of nov. Wich was very ligt and for 3 days only.and had spoting for 2 more days. Cause her levels show that she is 5 weeks pregnant now. On 30th when we did her blood test it was showing 56.07. Does that mean when we gave her the second round of femera she was pregnanat by then. Could this be our mistake that we had given her second round of femera and h.c.g shorts while she was pregnant. Remember that the first time ww used femera we never gave her the h.c.g shorts.

Super helpful! I planned on waiting til my blood test and even then at least waiting til 14 DPO but I bought the HCG strips and tested today at 9 DPO and is was a Strong negative which was upsetting especially with all the symptoms I'm having. I know it is still a possibility that it will not work but this video gave me hope! =)

No I stopped taking my BBT once I started treatments. It is difficult to get an accurate reading unless you are waking up at the exact same time each morning. Did you doc confirm your ovulation with a blood test or ultrasound? Good luck on your TWW.

Yes Ovidrel, Norarel, and Pregnyl are all forms for "trigger shots" that contain hCG. I have never heard of using 3 trigger shots, only 1 or 2, so you will have to consult your doctor on why they are using this protocol.

Yes it was a false positive. HCG is the hormone that is tested in a pregnancy test so the injection will make them turn positive for 7-14 days depending on the dosage.

I’m currently testing out using ovulation test. I’m 12dpt and they have stayed fairly dark the whole time. I had ovidral shot (6900 iu) with a doctors office IUI. Can I still be pregnant even though they haven’t lightened up and got darker again?

Ovulation tests respond to LH hormone while pregnancy test respond to HCG(the hormone in your trigger shot) like the one in my video respond to. Your doctor may have done a blood test for LH to confirm you ovulated. At 12 dp trigger your trigger shot should be out of your system so you could switch to pregnancy tests and if the line gets darker you are pregnant. Good Luck!

It takes 10 days max for a 5000 IU shot to leave your system. At 14 day I would say you are in the clear and pregnant for real. Congratulations!

Hi , hope you will give reply to me. I had hcg 7500 shot on my 9th day. After 2 days, my doctor said egg is released by seeing scan. But now i am getting cramps, and some times breast pain. Not sure how long 7500IU takes to leave the system. It is 14 days for a 10,000 IU injection, and 10 days for a 5,000 IU injection. 9 days after injection is still really early for a positive pregnancy test so I would keep testing. Good luck!

I would wait at least 7 full days from your last dose to be sure both doses have had enough time to leave you system. That probably gets you close to your official blood test date doesn't it?

As long as it is the same brand of test that is usually a good indication as long as the first test was fairly faint. Sometimes a second test isn't darker because you have reached the maximum amount of dye in the test line. Fingers crossed!

Depending on the dosage of the trigger shot it takes different amounts of time to leave your system. The guideline listed in the description box are just the maximum amount of time it could take. For example, mine showed negative at day 8 with a 5000IU trigger.

Carolina I am know early pregnancy can be very scary and a situation like this is very stressful. The only way to know for sure one way or another is to go get HCG Beta tests done with your doctor. They will do one and then do another 2 days later and if the result of that blood test goes down it is likely a miscarriage. Pregnancy tests especially the cheap ones don't always have the same amount of dye and can lead to one day not being as dark as the other. I have my fingers crossed that this is just the test acting up. Please let me know how your blood tests turn out.

I know this a difficult time of waiting. Many of the symptoms of pregnancy and a period are the same unfortunately. It would take 14 days for the 10,000 IU shot to be completely out of your system. If you took it earlier in your cycle then you should wait until 14 DPO to get an accurate pregnancy test results.

Everything was HCG 2000 IU and by Nov 2 I took hcg and today in November 6th I took UPT and it shows positive with a light line... If you took your last dose of HCG on Nov 2, it is too early to test on the 6th. You can consult with your doctor, but I wouldn't test again until AT LEAST 7 days after your last injection. It could still produce a false positive though depending on when the previous injections were.

I had a 5000iu trigger shot on the 7th at night and today is the 14th. I did 2 HPTs( a FRER and another that is not a very sensitive brand)...i got a very obvious line on a FRER (i know it picks up as low as 6 iu) and took another brand that i guess picks up 25iu and got a faint line... i know i tested early but the line is obvious..isnt the line by now(8 dpt) should not actually show up? Why are the lines so obvious?

You have tested too early to be sure if it is the trigger or pregnancy. A 5000IU shot stays in your system for 10 days. Retest when 11 full days have past. Best of luck!

Even if you had the highest dose trigger shot it should be out of your system. A positive test should be a real positive! Make sure to confirm with your doctor and get a beta test. Hello and thanks for watching! Day 7 is still too early and it is likely the trigger shot still. You will likely need to what until 14 days past the first shot to get a real test result. Normally it is 10 days for 5000IU and because your wife had two it is up to 14 days. Consult a doctor to be sure though.

Hello Rajah, sometimes the tests aren't all made the same and the intensity of the line can change. It could also be that your hcg is less though. Your doctor is correct. You need to get another hcg blood test to see what is happening for sure.

Hi Jewell, this was a timed intercourse cycle with injectable meds. My RE recommended intercourse every other day starting on the day of trigger(which you ovulate 24-36hrs after) until 3 days after trigger.

Unfortunately period symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms are very similar including cramps. If it has been 15 or more days since your trigger shot, you can take a pregnancy test.
