Subdai the mom in me has to say don’t forget to place a first aid kit in a drawer basic stuff for first aid you’ll also need a fire extinguisher tape, writing paper a pen extra batteries for remotes hand sanitizer get the packets. Congratulations on Blue Bamboo 🎉 Japan is on my bucket list hopefully I can soon I want to come during cherry blossom season and festival maybe I’ll get lucky and rent Blue Bamboo.

I also recommend creating a " best of " list on your blog for visitors to the Blue bamboo, then create a QR code for the webpage and frame it near the kitchen area. You can put all the sights to see and things to do, favorite restaurants and favorite foods on the blog. That way visitors will have a tried and true list of places to go and places to eat.❤

Girl maybe you to need to open a Laundromat in Kyoto, with cute snack vending machines, and a lounge area with free wifi- they are still really lucrative businesses in the right area, and if you scale to drop off pick up, dry cleaning all in one, at least in the states you can clear a mil a year in a major city.
@JEPiper3 ай бұрын
THIS! Before I had a washer/dryer in my house, going to the laundromat was a pain in the ass. At least make the experience more enjoyable, lol.

So Sundai I heard this CUTE Japanese folklore about if you see a stray cat and there is a cat currently missing you can tell the cat the name of the cat that's missing and they'll help find them and bring them home. You'll have to look it up because I'm sure I'm missing a few details lol but that's the jist of it. :)

Natsume's Book of Friends is one of my favourite anime. If you like it, I recommend Mushishi; it has the same vibe. Btw, Sundai, consider getting cupboard liners to protect the insides of your cabinet drawers. Ikea has them; it's called VARIERA Drawer mat.

As a person who rents out a property, might I suggest that you provide a binder with instructions on how to use certain appliances (in the event you haven't already thought of that, but I bet you have). This will be helpful for renters (certainly foreigners) and save you time and relief from them contacting you for information about navigating things.

If you want a certian dryer or washer in your house and it cant fit through the door, you could ask the company who delivers it to take it apart to fit it in the house and just reassemble it once everything is inside

Congratulations Sundai!! I PRAY my family & I can check out the Blue Bamboo before we leave Japan 😩 I’m super proud of you, I’ve only been a subscriber since we moved here in 2022 & I’ve faithfully watched you every since! I can relate so much to the “complaints” of Japan including with people who have not experienced living here 😂 if ever you’ll come to visit Sasebo, Nagasaki, I’d suggest trying one of the Jam Coffee locations. The one closest to Sakai is the BEST but I’m biased. Also, visit Huis Ten Bosch during the fall or Christmas time, it is the most amazing experience with such beautiful scenery if you ask me! Much love & I wish you continued success with the Blue Bamboo 🥳🥳🎉🫶🏾

Your mini-gripe about Japan's washers and dryers? Spot on! I (temporarily) have appliances from Japan; I've used them over the last year. When I tell you that I cannot wait to get back to my AMERICAN washer/dryer?!!!! I'm sorry if I'm contributing to the destruction of the planet and hope to make up for it elsewhere, but? I need my clothes AGITATED in ample amounts of water and DRIED to a CRISP. My Japanese washer/dryer do NOT suffice; alas. So, I am EXCITED that you've, essentially, furnished your renters' temporary home better than your own; it shows a level of class that even those with generational wealth cannot buy. The perspective of an American Abroad MATTERS; you understand the benefits and needs across cultures and countries, which makes Blue Bamboo's amalgam superior. KUDOS, e-Niece!

Expat-American living in Europe here.. and YES, laundry is something else here. I haven't had soft fluffy towels in 20 years. All of the combination washer-dryers I've had in my rental units have totally sucked. The "dryer" function just seems to boil and shrink everything. It certainly doesn't dry, which means I air dry everything. I have to hang everything to dry. Sweden hasn't been too much of a problem because it's dry here (although it's not ideal during the winter to have everything indoors drying when there's no dedicated laundry room). It was a real pain in the neck in the UK, because it's always dank and it would take days for things to dry. I had to buy cheap towels, because the extra plush American towels would never dry. Looks like you have a unique washer-dryer combo that actually works! Congratulations! Also - great place! Congratulations! The hard work really paid off!

15:48 I’m not sure this model of dryer but having lived in both the US and moving to the UK. It took me a min to get used to the combination washer/dryer but they have 3 different settings. Iron-comes out wet, cupboard-comes out damp, and cupboard+ which is actually dry! I was surprised by this since it’s been a while since I had an actual dryer. Check your manuel maybe yours has this option too 🤞🤞🤞

Washer dryers in Europe are renowned for being pretty bad and not quite drying properly. They also tend to be the least efficient option for energy. Sometimes you just have to get what you fits though. I think we tend to have the same issues as Japan with tiny living spaces so similar solutions exist, though i don't think they're as well thought through as Japanese products.
