The Yamaha YZ250 got 3rd in the Motocross Action 2023 shootout. Husky got 2nd. KTM got 1st. The KX250 came in at 5th place. Honda 6th, Suzuki 7th.

It’s slitting hairs really, since all these bikes are uber-good. It’s basically which color you like best. I’ve always liked the KXs.

@@sludge86 Yeah that is mostly true, but the Yamaha has been coming in 1st and 3rd in all the recent 250 and 450 shootouts by motocross action and dirt bike magazine. Kawasaki and Honda have been 5th or 6th, and the Suzuki has been coming in last out of 7 bikes, because it has less power. I prefer the Suzuki myself, because I have had 4 of them and they all ran great.

I dont take the ktm brands serious in the shootouts becasue ktm pays motorcross action so i jus dont take the ktms in consideration

Yamaha for suspension, KTM for power, Suzuki for cheapness, Honda for reliability, Kawasaki for all of them.

2020 KX250 had a problem with valve spring breakage and sent out a bulletin to owners for replacement.

@@TCON42499 Yeah I know, it just looks stupid to me. I rode motocross for years and never used them, and I almost never got hit in the hands with rocks, I just wore the padded mx gloves and they worked fine. In my day we made fun of people on an mx track with bark busters on an mx bike.
